CV Island Creek Sub- Update

Unread post by TrainWatcher »

With my extended vacation for the last few months, I really haven't gotten a chance to work on the layout. Well, got a bit accomplished today, including printing out the rough track plan for the the town of Holden, WV. This was a Model Railroader plan I will be converting to use. It isn't the finished version, but the turnouts will stay in the same area. I cut out the continuous running aspect as it proved to be much more of a problem with engineering of the walk in bridge than I originally anticipated. Power has also been slashed from 6 axle units down to 4 axles, and curves have been broadened from 18" to 20-22" radius. Track will be code 83, with Peco turnouts.|

If all you need is a simple crossing something like this is nice

You can engineer them to work on a curve but it would take a little more thought. It is worth it if you can swing it.

Neat way to use an enlarged drawing to place the tracks. How did you print it large-format - on a plotter?

Printed it on a large format printer at the local maker space, blown up and sized in Corel Draw vector program. It really turned out nice.

Hope Amtrak gives you some time off to work on it so we can see further updates
