Great Lakes Central decals

Unread post by Pie39 »

For those who don't know, Circus City is producing GLC decals in N and HO. I've got a sheet, while you have to be fairly decent at decals for this (they're not very simple), this is a great opportunity for those of us who wanted a unit or two (or 5 or 6...)

Here's N scale: https://circusdecals.ecwid.com/#!/Great ... ry=9312469

And HO: https://circusdecals.ecwid.com/#!/Great ... ry=9040590

Thanks for the heads up on these. 2 N scale sheets arrived yesterday. Have you started one yet? Curious what color blue you used.

Another project on the stack. This one may actually get done though. :D

Well, I'm lazy, so I don't have an airbrush. (I know, I know...it's on the list!)

So I used the "Gloss Bright Blue" spray acrylic by Testors, it ended up looking good and perfect for laying decals over it. I still need to do the stripes, but I've got everything else done. These are nice decals!

(I'll put a picture...somewhere when I'm finished. Doing 395 now.)

Blue is going on a GP-35 this afternoon. Nice day for painting outside. I'm not an airbrush painter either, so I have to rely on good weather. Hopefully 385 will be up and running this week-end. Then on to some GP-38's.

385 is mostly done. Here's a short video of her. Not the best job, but I figure in N scale, who will notice. 2 GP-38's have just been painted and are waiting to dry. Decals went on nice and easy. Maybe one day I'll clean off the layout and actually run trains more than a few minutes at a time.

I can tell what it is so I'd say looks pretty good :)
