Rapido Amtrak F40

Time is running out if you want to order one of the new Rapido HO Amtrak F40PH units. Probably the most detailed F40 ever crafted, I've already put my order in :)

They're offering a bunch of road numbers in both sound/DCC and straight -DC options, in both Phase II and Phase III paint. If you model the Michigan Line in the 80s up through 1997, or most any other Amtrak route in the same era, it'll be worth it!

I'm digging those ghetto bars!
I'd like to get one if it was in my budget. Be nice to do a side by side with train line, kato, and Bachman. All of which I already have in Amtrak. Still waiting for them to do the Via f40ph-3's though. That would be something I would definitely order.

They did come out with some VIA F40PH-2D's earlier in the year. JLWII2000 on youtube did a review on the DCC/Sound I believe. Ill put both links below.

I ordered #217 in Phase III, one of the units Rapido claims was assigned to the Midwest and East. Had to get one with sound so I can play with the flashing strobes and working ground/step lights!

Righto but CRman is talking about the most updated Via F40PH's and paint scheme. They go by F40PH-3 or F40PH-3D depending on who you ask. The paint scheme is pretty sweet, and there are some difference like the headlight package, enclosed rear porch, and some other details.

I am quite fond of those units, good looking units and a nice paint scheme. The colors really pop to me, when they are clean they look sweet.
