AMV 3-22-15

Unread post by bjett »

Since management of the AMV squeaks when they walk, all the locals were idyll rather then be paid time and a half for working on Sunday
3-23-15 Monday morning finds some activity going on. The CN unit on a ballast work train. GT gp40 in the yard for service and the gp9TT swapping some cars around.. Mean while AMV management anxiously waits for the expected delivery today of a ATLAS dc locomotive they have wanted and been looking for over two years. :D

Hoo-ray, the ATLAS SD26 purchased on e-bay last wed. arrived as scheduled. Also came a ATLAS Central Vermont gp9 purchased from Brooklyn Locomotive 3-14-15. The gp9 was to be painted into the AMV scheme to replace an old Life Like gp18 that has wire pick up to make it go. After seeing the gp9 I just can not repaint it. Seems I have a few others in the collection like that. (I know Marsh, it means another purchase :D )

Happy to read that. Careful though it is difficult to remain humble with remarks like that. :D The lay out would never pass by the rivet counter standards or NMRA rules. I just enjoy working on it, mainly for myself. I do have visitors once in a while who run my locomotives as well as their own that they bring. If you are in my area PM me to make sure I'm home and directions bring some inventory to run (N scale dc). Some times the coffee is strong and sometimes weak. For views of the 2006 layout check post I think around 2010. Not sure of the month Bob Jetmore.
Guest inventory's on the AMV.
RDC was one of my favorites:

Appreciate that. Got me to thinking (I do that once in a while) I do not have any thing Ann Arbor. Will have to check the piggy bank and see what can be done about that. For some reason I was thinking you are into HO so can't ask you to bring AA stuff to strut around.

Not much going on this morning:

Thanks Bob! I'll let you know whenever I'm in the area and can bring my N scale equipment.

I like your diverse roster of locos and freight cars. Do you have a list of your locomotive roster?

Also, I really like the track plan as well. Simple, yet effective. Have you considered adding a simple 3-4 track staging yard?

I would like to add the staging yard but I do not have the room for it. I do not like multiple layer layouts (for myself) so would not ever consider that route.

I never kept records when locos were repainted to other schemes from original so have no idea on that.

Say what? Your holding back, I don't remember seeing a UP 70AC 4141. If I had, your tote bag might have been a little lighter returning home :) .
