I recently picked up a Kato NS SD40-2, and had a question about adding a high hood kit to it.
Do I need to buy a whole new cab, or just the short hood kit?
Also if anyone has any experience with these kits, how difficult was it to install?
Thanks

Re: Cannon and Co. High hood kits.
Sean,
A while back I built two NS SD40-2's, both high hood, both Kato. They were built with the Cannon kit. Both kits were easy to build and install, and I kept the original cabs. I removed the cast on headlight and number boards, and the fit right on. I was very pleased with how they came out. I built 1630 (with the extra brake shoes on the trucks) and the 3325 (which I had been in the cab of). Both had been on the Lima district.
Now the prototype 3325 doesn't look like mine, as it now has the Admiral cab. Figures.
