Custom Painting Business Starter Kit on eBay

Unread post by CSX_CO »

After sitting on these assets for the last several years, and not doing anything with them, I've decided to list my extensive decal/dry transfer collection on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121237184074?ss ... 1558.l2649

This may not be for the 'average' hobbyist, but there are a lot of good items in these drawers. A lot of Michigan related railroads are represented, so that's why I'm posting it here. For the ambitious, listing the items individually would help you recoup some of your investment if you don't want the entire collection.

Also have other items for sale as I clean out the clutter in my garage and office. My interests lie elsewhere, and I need these out of my office so I can replace the carpet.

I'm headed to K-zoo over Christmas, and so could 'deliver' to that area of the state.

Makes my modeling assets look like a drop in the bucket! Impressive, but needless to say far outside the budget!

Yep. ~5600 individual sets for decals and dry transfers. Plus $400 worth of model paint. That's asking half of the retail value. Most of these sets aren't available anymore either. Sell off what you don't need and recoup the initial investment. Im just not interested in listing everything

In the first drawer alone, there are 1094 individual decal or dry transfer sets. I have 7 drawers to go. Next drawer gets me "Chicago" railroads through Frisco. Some of the drawers are not as full as the others, but gives you an idea of the 'scope' of what all is included. So, yeah, $9000 is a big chunk of change up front. Honestly, I have a 'minimum' figure in mind that I want for it, but seeing if there are any takers at $9K.

I suppose if it doesn't sell by the first quarter of next year, I'll start 'parting it out'. I have a feeling some of the Ann Arbor stuff would be of interest to people on this board.

Had an individual approach me on eBay to buy a large portion of the collection. I will be parting out the rest of what I have. It is a lot of CDS dry transfers, and Campbell Road Dry Transfers. Going to see what I can unload prior to listing things on eBay.

Message me with your email for excel files, and maybe .pdf if I get around to it, of what is left. May take a day or two to respond, as I'm still boxing up a lot of stuff.

.pdf's uploaded in the files area with a 2-25-2015 current inventory.

Of local interest is quite a few sets of Grand Rapids, Holland, and Chicago interurban dry transfers in drawer 3. They would work on 40' box cars, express reefers, etc.

Also a lot of Michigan Central (drawer 5), GR&I (drawer 3), Pere Marquette (drawer 6), C&O (drawer 1), Wabash (drawer 8), et al sets in there too. Also sets for the Whirlpool (drawer 8) cars that were in appliance service out of Benton Harbor Michigan.

As far as pricing, I'd like to get $3.00 per set of CDS, and $2.00 a 'sheet' for the Campbell Road. CDS 'retails' for ~$5 a set (if you can get them), and Campbell Road is out of production but was selling for $7.00 to $8.00 for a 'two pack' (two sheets) before they disappeared. CDS will get you one car, but Campbell Road usually has enough on them to do two cars per sheet. I have a lot of partial sheets, and have been generous with throwing in some 'partial' sheets with the bigger orders. I'm also willing to work out a discount for a larger 'bulk' order.

These fit in a standard envelope, so shipping shouldn't be too outrageous either.

I'm off on my dates, since I haven't had to work since Saturday. I finished pulling a 1000 sheet order last night around 2000, and thus the 'inventory' was current as of 2015 last night.

Have listed the CDS sets on eBay. Quite a few with Michigan railroad interests remaining. I was surprised how fast the Canadian sets moved out, but still some remaining.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/colwofindiana/m.html

That should be a link to what I have for sale.

Thanks for looking.

Inventory has really been pared down. I'm down to one legal sized filing cabinet full of stuff. I've finally listed the Campbell Road sets. Of Michigan Interest was custom sets for the CK&S and Grand Rapids, Holland, and Chicago interurban. I still need to get photos of the GR&I sets, and get those listed.
