Note:

My railroad name is the Michigan and Ohio Railway (I think...I wrote it down as both railway and railroad a long time ago). However, when I finally gathered up everything I'd put together concerning it, I realized I'd reorganized the company a few years back under a parent company, Michigan Hi-Rail (MIHR), which gave me another set of reporting marks to play around with (MORY being the first set) and the opportunity to have some fun making the company look real (and, in a way, a chance to put what I've learned in classes as a business major into practice on some level), without changing a whole lot of the overall operations. I've also put some degree of emphasis on collecting the locomotives I want now before they become too scarce (well, kind of, I DO have a limited budget though).

I haven't gotten around to numbering most of the locomotives yet, mainly because the majority of the un-numbered locomotives have only been repainted recently (when I realized it's not that hard to custom paint your own fleet, especially if you don't like that SP paint scheme too much, but really love the HESR GP38s old scheme that you've seen on the internet and would like to replicate, kind of). So, although I've started doing the custom painting thing, I haven't yet gotten to the point of lettering/numbering them (I don't even have numbers to fit most of the numberboards, yet).

In addition to the locomotives, I also keep a number of passenger cars on hand. Due to the history or story of my railroad, I regard the majority of my passenger cars differently than they would be on the prototype. Being a freelanced road (in more than one way), I can run lots of passenger trains (not modeled), under the theory that with the right schedules and service, I can actually make something of a profit off of the services (I know passenger services don't make money, but that's in the real world). As a result of my 'services', Amtrak doesn't run on my lines. I enjoy passenger train equipment though and even the Amtrak paint schems, so its been a hard decision to get rid of the Amtrak paint and replace it with a scheme similar to the Phase 2 scheme on my locomotives. Eventually my 2 RDCs will receive full body paint in the same scheme.

Due to a recent accident involving three of my Superliners (all Con-Cor products) I've gone from a Superliner roster of 4 Con-Cor cars, and 2 Kato cars (Kato cars are AMTK phase 4 paint, I think). The 4th superliner is one of the big observation/lounge cars Amtrak has, except modified to be a transition car with a low door on one end. While stripping the paint off the other three cars, I found out that the window inserts and roofs were glued into place, making it possible to strip the paint, but not to pull the window pieces out. In frustration I threw 'em back into the Pine Sol and forgot about 'em for a couple days. When I remebered 'em again, the roofs came right out, but the cars were weakend from the chemical and one of 'em survived with no damage (that I know of), one of 'em had minor damage that I was able to fix by cutting the good end off the third car (the other end was pretty badly damaged as well) and gluing it to the second car. The third car, if it were on the prototype would either be repaired or scrapped. Since I don't have the resources to repair it to its original condition and I can't afford to scrap much of anything, I decided to modify it a bit to reflect the changes it underwent. Its a one of a kind model, needing a bit of work yet, and a coat of paint.

I technically count anything I've custom painted as being on my roster, so I have three green and white passenger cars, three blue and gold passenger cars and (I will have) three Superliner 1 cars painted Blue, Yellow and White and one strange looking Superliner 1 car painted the same way. I also have a number of cabooses running around. None of 'em are numbered, but that's ok, because none of 'em look exactly the same either. I think they're a mix of Santa Fe and other designs, but the old SF designs seem to be pretty prevalent. Most of 'em have red ends and various shades of blue sides, although one is green and yellow.

And I think that concludes my roster list and notes section. Sorry about the length...

I find my modeling mistakes often make good fodder for a deadline behind the round house a soldering iron can make some interesting tears and punctures as if the cars were derailed and went for a slide in the dirt.
I used to have alot of fun trying to make old trainset cars look as bad as possible, and if you get enough mistakes you can model a freelance scrapper with parts of cars and locos scattered everywhere.

Actually, Jon has a 4x8 layout in his basement that he runs them on, DC control, with shelfs upon shelfs bursting full of equipment in the boxes. :P

I have all of these for sale, plus quite a bit of cars, buildings, scenery, figures, and DCC power packs/controlers.... those are just retail prices, will accept lower of course... PM me or email me at webmaster@railroadfan.com if you want to offer something. All of my HO stuff are in the boxes, and for the most part, never used.
