Layout Expansion.....Again!

Postby Justin on Fri Jul 13, 2012 5:49 pm

This makes the third time I have added on to my layout since I moved into my current house 3 1/2 years ago. I have now officially taken over the entire basement. Doing so was not an easy task as I had to take in account access to circuit breaker panel and such, (my folks gave me the green light on expanding as long as I took that into consideration). Not a problem there, just constructed another lift up bridge and expanded the operating pit as the walkway to the new section of layout. I was able to remove an old incinerator thus giving me the room to span out the framework. Here is a video clip of the layout as of July 10, bear in mind the layout is messy due to all the work.

Two trains simultaneously, one can work in the yards while another runs on the main, of course now the main is basically double tracked all around so two trains can run continuously. Since I like both mainline running and some switching I can do both at the same time.
