N scale for now, one day when I can add on to the back of the garage I will go back to HO. N scale is nice, but there's so much more available in HO.

I model HO and N scale. In HO scale I model the 1990's era Rio Grande and Espee.

In N scale I model the 1955-era Great Northern in Washington.

Here are a few photos of my HO scale DRGW/SP layout.

Image
SP SD40M-2 8613 leading a eastbound coal train. I custom detailed and painted SP 8613.

Image
SP B39-8 8002 leading train DVROT waiting for the RODVM train to clear the main.

Image
I back-dated, detailed and painted this unit as well. She's going to be lightly weathered soon.
Equipped with operating ditch lights, and strobe.

These are older pix...more "updated" ones to come soon!

Yeah, that is awesome scenery, very nice.

I have a 4ft HO scale shelf. It has 1 track and a switch with a track just long enough for a car.

It's full of motive power, that's it, lol.

I hear you have to have watchmaker skills to be in N gauge.

Beautiful looking layout RAILZFAN. Ops session? I'd make the drive to operate on it. And we'd love to see a track plan, even if just drawn on paper.

See ya.

I'm not a watchmaker nor do I have those skills. N scale isn't bad to work in unless you choose Code 55 track. then its just a pain. I'm the only modeler around here that uses it so I have order it everytime I need some. Then there is this whole thing with My trackwork has to be near perfect which its anything but. Code 80 is way better. N scale Code 80 is the equivelent of HO Code 100

Well I use code 55 in N scale and the only problem that I have is with the high profile wheels and either swap with the micro-trains low profiles or Fox Valley metal wheels.

The biggest problem with my trackwork is that I have a couple kinks on the track. The worst problem, my drawbridge, has been removed. Thats something I'm never doing again...

Thanks for the comments! As for op sessions, I haven't had any yet, I would like to but am still in the process of getting all the train orders set up. I don't have a track diagram, however, I do plan on making one quick as many people have asked me for one. The layout size is 11' x 20' around the wall style set in western Colorado.

I do too. Except I don't weather HO equipment in my free time. And for the most part, my HO stuff is in boxes in another state.
