Since Nippon Sharyo failed to deliver, Siemens is getting the nod. With the cars already in production for Brightline, it’ll be a quick rollout sounds like. Soon to be many full-Siemens trainsets roaming around.
There will be 137 cars built, with 49 staying in California and 88 assigned to the Midwest.

Re: Siemens Selected to MFG Midwest/CA Pax Cars
I’m looking forward to this. As much as I’ve liked the Horizons and Amfleets, they’re just getting old. Michigan, being the fastest corridor outside of the NE, should have the newest and best for their customer and eventually all customers served by “Amtrak Midwest”.
I noticed that the cars for Brightline are designed for high level platforms. Would it be expected that the versions for Amtrak would essentially work like the current cars?
