How is it going to be delivered to HESR since NS doesn't connect to them? Interchange with CN or something?

Should be an ex NS engine. Rebuilt from High hood to Low Nose years ago. Still has the bell mounting on the back.

Not years ago, rebuilt when G&W got them and they were chopped at the shop that's doing the work to them. That's what I was told anyway.

Where does CN typically interchange with NS in Southeast Michigan?

CN typically interchanges with NS in Melvindale (Oakwood Yard) or Toledo.

Looking at the pic I found of it in STL you are correct, my mistake. Does anyone know if the bell is still on the back hood too? Would assume they have either moved or removed it during rebuild.

Read tsinoms above post! He says it still has the bell on the back!!!! This is something to see! HESR is going to get more and more
"Orange" as time goes on though!!!!
I like the "Variety" we have now!!!! The only remaining unit on the roster in "Black" CMGN paint is GP40-2LW #3036 (former CMGN 9712)! I miss the Central Michigan®!!!!
I also miss the "Original" Huron & Eastern®!!!! At least there still are the four "Original" HESR GP38-2s remaining in RA paint, RA logos recently painted out!!!!

Is the 2107 in tow, or a part of the consist. If it is in tow, why is it between two NS units, rather than first up in the train?

Per a photo on Facebook, 2107 did indeed keep its high mounted bell on the rear of the unit.

I just talked to someone who works for NS!!!! He said they sold 500 GP38-2 "High Hood" locos! However, Shortlines are getting them such as HESR!!!! However, even with the "High Mounted" bell (which I love), it's no longer a "High Hood!" The question is: How many remain on NS?

I don't believe NS has or had 500 high hood GP-38-2s.
