Hello,
I am new to the railfanning network. I live in the Ada area and the CSX line runs nearby to lansing and beyond. Does anyone know what times the CSX line runs to and from lansing and Grand Rapids?
Also, i feel somewhat stupid asking this, but what do the light signals mean on the tracks (the red, yellow and green)? I am fascinated by these trains and want to know more. Thanks to all that respond.

Adafan, I PM'd you back. You will fine lots of info on the CSX trains in there. I live in nearby Cascade. You know that the tracks running through Ada are the Grand Rapids Eastern, not CSX, right? CSX is up by the airport.
The GRE runs almost everyweekday. They usually head through Ada sometime in the morning and return around noon, but later if they have a lot of work to be done.
To answer your signal questions, they work very much like traffic lights. Green is clear, yellow is approach and red is stop.

Adatrainfan - take a look here to get a feel for what is going on just south of you on the CSX. Click the train list link to see the various trains that do or could pass by. Then you can click the links on the left toolbar to see other subdivisions of the CSX mainline across the state And welcome aboard!

Mr. Tops should add Z364 (I think) to his list of trains. It's just GRE, but do use the symbol when crossing the diamond and heading up to the interchange yard on CSX trackage.
