For clarification, Conrail Shared Assets started operation.
Conrail NY-60 heads for Mack Yard on June 1st, 2015 with the classic Bay Window Caboose on the rear. This is the last surviving caboose on the Conrail Detroit system.

Re: 16 Years Ago Today
I remember the day well it was wet cold and rainy, I was in Greenwich, Oh waiting for the first revenue freight to use the new connector. I had a buitiful shot of brand new AC6000CWs rounding the curve and sent it into Trains Mag. They rejected it and published a terrible picture of the train going away done by one of their staff photographers. The guy was a jerk IIRC but his name escapes me.

My daughter was born 6/2/1999 - so needless to say my priorities were elsewhere

Re: 16 Years Ago Today
My wife did let me go out on 6/1/99 in the morning (she said "it's the last chance you'll get for train watching for a while - take it") and I got an Annie GP38 working by Hallet, we went in to have labor induced on the evening of 6/1 and around lunchtime on the 2nd my daughter was born, so not as much time as one would think.
