New Power for the Ann Arbor Railroad

Unread post by cfriedri »

GMTX 2230, an EMD GP38-2, has been spotted at Ottawa Yard in Toledo. Word has it that the locomotive is on lease to the railroad for two years - will have more details once I've talked with a few individuals. Looks to have new paint on the cab and on the front and rear porches. Not sure exactly what the lineage of the locomotive is, but features suggest that it was bought new by the PC.

Hmmm.. I wonder if they will get rid of 7802 with this unit or keep them all around. Guess we will find out soon. Thanks for the update Connor

Word is that this locomotive was leased to supplement the existing roster and not as a replacement for 7802. Built 07/1972 as PC 7999 to CR 7999 to EMDX 799 to GMTX 2230 with Serial #7354-60.
