Unread post by AARR »

From the Fall-Winter 2014 The Double A (Bi-annual journal of the Ann Arbor Railroad Technical & Historical Association)
- The ex-potash transload shed in Cadillac's North Yard converted for corn and soybeans by MAC. Loaded into former sand covered hoppers that are close to retirement shipped to their facility in Middleton for drying and reloading into unit trains.
- Viking Energy receiving old railroad ties at Cadillac for transloading. A new spur to their McBain plant will be built. Expecting 2000 cars per year.
- Biewer Sawmill in McBain receives logs but has begun shipping finished lumber utilizing cars that brought inbound lumber to Amerhart in Bates.
- Merit Energy south of Kalkaska shipping 40-60 cars per month of butane and isobutene
- Bourne Industries in Corunna receives engineered wood materials
- The old Delta Truss property in Cadillac is now receiving canola mash for animal feed (operated by Richardson?)
- Zeeland Farm Services acquired the partially completed but unused Liberty Renewable Fuels near Ithaca for soybean oil production
