The cabs are supposed to look like the CP cabs on their ECO units and I believe the units will also have flared radiators. As soon as the first photo shows up, we'll know for sure.

News:

What was originally rumored to be a DC to AC conversion of a test batch of C40-8Ws is actually just a DC refurb, with the first three units just released from Erie. Check out the link to a photo of the trio. They got new cab interiors, some upgraded electricals, refurbishment to some areas as needed, and some modifications to the radiators. They're keeping their old numbers, with the designation 8-40CWM. We'll call them C40-8WMs in the updates, as we use the C40-8W nomenclature...

Also heard on the street, CSX is due to receive a small - supposedly 8 unit - batch of GE's Tier 4 demonstrator units.

Per Loconotes... CSXT 1700 1703 1704 1708 released from Progress Rail Muncie on 1/18/2017. Should interchange at Cincinnati.

Interesting since we thought they'd be coming from Patterson, GA

Some of those are pinging in GA, but a couple have been spotted sitting outside at Muncie.

How many sticker units do we have again Alex? Did they ever fix the Chessie unit after it burned up?

There is no need to buy any new units given the current state of things, GE or EMD. However CSX seemed to like the new EMD's per some contacts.
