As confirmed by NSDash9.com, the SD80MAC trade is happening very soon. It has been changed to a 12-for-12 trade, so there will only be 12 NS SD40-2s coming over.

If you're going to rat on the "apparent" bad deal, consider that although it is trading away "60000hp" for "36000hp", the SD80MACs were far from the pride of the fleet in reliability, so CSX was getting much less of that in reality, whereas 12 working SD40-2s will actually be giving much closer to their 36000hp theoretical numbers

They were delivered in interchange less than 48 hrs ago. Give the the mechanical people some time to go over them. Sheesh.

JT, can we get a facepalm????

First, you didn't put anything in the box to actually make it work...

Second, we always ask whomever claims a repaint for a photo, assuming they're the first ones to have one. Bob regularly checks a variety of sources for repaints. Chances are, he'll find them WAY before they're at the top of Google.

So, uh yeah...nice try. But no.

Just saying that no one HAS to have a photo for you bud. You can google it. I'm sure someone in another state got 8444 in YN3B paint already.

You got school in the morning, go to sleep.

You obviously don't get how this works. This happens all the time. People claim repaint, and we ask for a photo. If they have one, great: we make the changes. If not, it is put on Bob's watch list and he actually will spend time looking in his usual places for it. No, this does not include a Google search.

There are a few people, it is worth noting, who we trust and will make the changes without an image. But in general, it requires an image. Nothing against DT&I here. It isn't a "downgrade" for those we don't just take for their word...it is an upgrade from requiring photo proof.

It is all in the name of accuracy.
