Hat's off to NS for doing these units, hope it catches on. Their shops sure do a nice job as well, sure a lot of extra time, attention, and effort went in to doing these!

The Conrail heritage unit made its first trip to the Chicago area a few days ago, it's currently at East Chicago, IN and will likely lead a empty coal train back east down the NKP line from there. Also the NKP heritage unit is now making its first revenue runs. The Central of Georgia unit should be next out from Chattanooga, while the N&W should be next out from Altoona. Also, the Lehigh Valley and Pennsy units are at Altoona waiting to be painted, and the Interstate and original NS units are waiting for paint at Chattanooga.

Also in addition to that, the first SD70ACe heritage units should be coming out soon, as the standard horsehead ones in the order have been completed already. The heritage units will not be far behind, and should all be on the rails by the end of May if not sooner. Rumor has it the first ACe out will be the New York Central.

Note - the Conrail unit will most likely be *trailing* on the return move. The NKP unit was last reported sitting in Ashtabula, OH after bringing up an empty stone train (as of mid-day 4/5/12). No idea where the Southern unit is currently but still down south last I heard.

The Conrail unit is still sitting at East Chicago as of now, not attached to any kind of train.

There should be no standard horsehead SD70ACe's this time, only 1065-1074 In heritage paint.

I hope that runs on the ex-CG mainline to Carrolton.

That's what I was trying to get at. That they were as far as I knew were SD70ACe's. But, I was also looking at the comment that the heritage were the only regular ones. So, I was wondering if the 1000-1064 were different than regular in some shape or form.

The heritage units will be Tier 3 compliant but other than that first for NS they should be basically the same as the 2011 SD70ACe order from 1000 to 1064.

Probably my least favorite so far.

I would have thought a darker blue, like a midnight blue would have been a better representation.

Well I see the photo has been reedited, and the blue looks right on now. Going to say it was always on and the photographer goofed up.
