SD50-2 Updates

Unread post by Mr. Tops »

I was informed today that on top of CSX 8637-8659, the MofW SD50's also include CSX 8499 and 8668-8676. 2475-2499 slots will be filled by 8644-8659 and 8668-8676. 8668 has been released as 2492 which fits perfectly (along with 8653/2484) into the new series. The 8660-8667 have been skipped over for some reason (Bob M. says they are listed as "Massena Unit" on the CSX computer). So now the question is what about 8499, 8637-8643?

I will use this post to keep everyone updated on the pgrogress...and I give CSX props for renumbering the IN ORDER!

CSX 8499 has been renumbered to 2474. 8640 is up next; we'll see what it comes out as. Not all units are being repainted when downgraded.

Ok out with the old junk, and in with better photos. Here they are. The 8640, now has SD50-2, on the side, but as can tell, has not been renumbered, the 2492, has had the whole side of the cab, painted over, and new class stickers, and numbers applied. Mabey its just my imignation, but the 2492 almost looks like it has a smaller fuel tank.
