I was inside the shop today and the 392 is still all tore apart. the engine has its turbo or it hasn't even taking it out but the Generator blower and the traction motor blower are still missing as well as a few other things.

how many units are painted in the blue GLC paint? I've only been able to find photos of 1 unit. are they planning on repainting more?

Only 1 so far, #385. I'm not sure if they plan on painting more or not, they're all patched for GLC now so it's probably not that high of a priority. Last time I checked the 2 ex Southern high hood GP35's, 2648 and 2681 still were in TSBY paint, as was NW2 #1977.

Do you happen to have any photos of the patched units? and good pictures of the patch itself? I may have to make some of those!

TSBY 2681 has never worn the TSBY Blue/Yellow?red scheme. Only scheme its seen since Southern is the solid black she wears w/ yellow TSBY 2681 lettering under the cab windows.
Rule #1: BerkshireKid is God. Rule #2: God is always right. Rule #3: If you think you may actually be right refer to Rules #1 & #2.

again...awesome shots... thanks for the pictures. the patch looks good on those.. modifying the TSBY units athearn is releasing in febuary should be a breeze. I for some reason like patch/transition paints... they have alot of character. Any word on when the commuter service is going to get going? Chris

Great photo roster! It helps answer some of my questions about what's in service and what is not up there. I can see why GLC has leased the two GP38-2s... with 392 down plus both high hoods and the little NW2, there's really not much power left to run! I hope they get the high hoods fixed soon, always a treat to see them out and about. Does anyone know what the specific problems are with the 2648, 2681, and 1977?

I'll have to post the photos I took of the GLC at Osmer from a week or two back. It was a treat to see 5 engines leading their train (over half of the current running roster):
390 (new TSBY w/ GLC patch)
385 GLC Blue
394 (old TSBY w/ GLC patch)
Both GP38-2s.

I did get a nice shot of the front side of 390 which shows the patch well... they did a good job with them, but some of the TSBY colors are starting to look pretty faded. Still, I'd rather see more of the out of service engines back on the road before they start painting any more. But I'm just a railfan with a camera.:)

At one point a few years ago they had pulled out the hulk of 387 (I think, or was it 386?) from the backlot along with the third SOU highhood (#2674). Did anything ever come of these engines? Parts sources? possible rehabs for service? scrap heap?

Thanks again for this great thread.
