Seems that people forget that they still are around. 46/46 - 160.800-road #1, M.P.20.0 to YD. & CP North yard to WS. 64/64 - 161.070-road #2, YD to CP North yard & Michigan line from Town line to M.P. 2.0 & the Junction yard running track. 50/50 - 160.860-yard #3 - River Rouge & Mack yards. 58/58 - yard #4, Sterling & North yards. 66/66 - 161.100-hump #6. Livernois yard. Also the signal dept. uses 52/52 - 160.890. And the track dept. 40/40 - mobile, 160.710 & 68/68 - base, 161.130. They also use a base to mobile combo. ( 68/40 and/or 40/68. )I listen to these almost every day, they are always busy.

Thanks MD, I have been meaning to ask what they were, I knew 66, but didnt have a clue.

I also should include that the Terminal West job ( LV-4 )as well as the Dearborn Steel job ( LV-35 ) both work on 66/66, 161.800. The Conrail MW channels MW#3 68/68, MW#4 68/40 & MW#5 40/68. Here are a few others that i've had luck with NS tie & surfaceing gang 160.380. And then there are Hulcher 43.00 - 43.04 - 43.32 - 43.44. r.j.corman 151.625. these are good to listen to at a derailment site, I leave them scanning all the time.

I wonder if the current scanners that are on the market will still be able to pick up railroad channels after the railroads expand the RR band ? Any ideas ?

Im sure that they will, as with frequencies changing set amounts between channels, and the ones I have have all the "steps" preprogramed in. I didnt know that there was a future expanson pland.

More info....The band width will be narrowed to 6.25kHz, turning the current 97 AAR channels into 512 channels. This info based on the FCC document FCC07-39 (March 2007).

The Adrian and Blissfield received permission from the FCC, to implement a repeater on 160.215 (07). So far I have not heard any traffic on that frequency, but that may change in the future.

I see that the emission designator of: 4K00F1W, has been added to all of the transmitter sites. This gives CSXT a green light to implement Kenwood's Nexedge digital data/voice technology at all locations that this (and other FCC grants) license covers. When this technology is implemented, it will be bad news for scanner listeners, as there are no commercially manufactured scanners currently made that can decode this digital format.

IIRC, the TRX-1 and TRX-2 can decode NXDN.
