Right. We're waiting for further confirmation of this. We don't make changes until we see them sometimes, because rumors and changes-of-plan are frequent.

I report Repaints here at the end of each month to save on the "spam" factor some where feeling when is report them as we got them. The majority of the info that goes into the Bullsheet is from the exact same source as I get it, thanks to Bob M!

Understood. I remember that hoax about CSX getting B40-8s from UP, even with numbers supplied! I appreciate the accuracy in the reports here!

This is an april fools joke...this isn't real

So what we have been hearing is true! CSX I going to try EMD again, once SD70ACe Tier 4 production starts!

Sure flies in the face of what most foamers think...and even us, too! I guess the railroad will be the railroad.

CSX to Order SD70ACe Tier 4 Locomotives
MUINCE, INDIANA -- CSX Transportation and Progress Rail's EMD subsidiary have announced a new 100-unit order for the yet-to-be-produced SD70ACe Tier 4 Locomotive. "We evaluated the performance of our previous order and the offer was made," said a senior CSX Official. "We will be trading in our 20 SD70ACes to EMD, plus cash, for the 20-unit order, with an option to buy 80 more."

CSX cited dismal performance by their pre-production order of SD70ACes last decade, which have proven unreliable. "However, over the last decade, EMD's production quality has improved dramatically. We tested the Tier 3 units two years ago, and were impressed by their progress, but we were not looking for more power".

Today, CSX can't get power fast enough, and even with a 300-unit order with GE for ES44AHs in progress, CSX is looking to the future, to Tier 4.

"We want to get an idea of each builder's Tier 4 technology, compare for the future," the company official elaborated.

The SD70ACe Tier 4 locomotives will feature a new CAT engine and be rated at 4,000 horsepower. The beleaguered builder is well behind schedule, with hopes for the first Tier 4 units available for testing by Q4 2015.

You know, we give him crap for a lot but he did pretty well on this one.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

Just saw a picture on Facebook of NS 3438 renumbered 8909. Black paint with CSX HTM logos, not sure if I can re-post here? There's also a list of the renumberings, they are NOT in order with NS numbers.

It's alright...we will be putting out the update with ALL of those details in under 24 hours. I have the image ready to go. :)

We've also got numbers for the next dozen GP40-3s and GP38-3s, and news regarding the SD40-3s. Big update for sure.

I hope they last as long as they can like that. The yellow logo POPS on the black. YN4 anyone?

For a PATCH? Hell no. It doesn't even have a yellow nose!

Probably going to go with NS and then side denote what these are. I have become partial to "Black Future" as a nickname, "CSX Black" as well. NSB for "NS boxcar logo" works as well. I don't like James' B1B suggestions as much, since again it isn't a full paint scheme, it assumes the 1 stands for "scheme 1", and it winds up sounding like an axle arrangement. Which I hilarious since it isn't even really possible! Haha.

In accounting here, you'll see them under NS. No idea how long they'll last, but I may just list them each time. We will have to see if they all get the new logo and whatnot. Doubting they go to -3 because of the older trucks and being SD40 rebuilds. But hey, they also put a full logo and patch job on these...and it took a minute to get past that surprise on a April 1!
