I believe they mostly get inbound feed and fertilizer. Does that sound correct guys?

In a newspaper article a few years back it said they receive/ship 500 cars a year and that was going to increase to 850. From what I have read here they don't come anywhere near 500 cars a year so I am wondering where those numbers came from?

GRE 3839, MMRR 3836 southbound 4-12-13 at 12:15am with 4 box, 22 sandies, 4 fremonters, 2 tanks all for a grand total of 32 outbounds.

Also noticed that MS has a cut of cars on the team track by Jackson in grand haven. Not sure how long they have been there or why they are there. also the "app" marker on the statuary approach signal for the bridge has been replaced with a "D" marker.

Years ago an elevator on the old GTW between Coopersville and Grand Haven received some fertilizer from a team track in Grand Haven. I think the name of the elevator was Groenicks(?). Could it be for them?

I have noticed CHs there before. Sounds like this is a probable cause...

Nope, it was a box, sandie and tank in that order. 3839 came light power south this morning to pick them up.

not sure what happened as when I saw them 20 minutes later the siding was surrounded by firemen and other personnel. The side panels on the loco were all wide open. It sat for about 2 hours before they cleared out and it went north.

Went north around 2

Do they still ship from the siding in Ferrysburg? I see a car there usually once every few months but I don't know if its a different place or not

I wonder if they will be running south on Fridays early as a normal procedure. In other news, the SW unit has been moved from Henry street...both Kaimachi units still parked outside. The Henry yard is fairly empty, but there is a cut of CHs at the west end, and a cut of mixed tanks, boxes and CHs on the east end.

The SW unit is most likely in the barn. They usually keep it there off and on.

There are boxes and tanks at Henry? That's odd....
I'm pretty sure the business is winding down at the norton shores facility. There were only about 8 from there on Fridays train which is down from the usual 20.

Seems like Brinks should be getting something these days. Have you seen anything there?

Brinks receives loads as needed (usually when the reserve tanks get low)

I did some digging around in my spare time today:

North yard is very empty. probably the fewest number of cars I have ever seen in the yard. From what I saw, there is a mix of sand cars on 2 or 3 tracks. Box count is low because Bay / shape have been shipping large numbers. I also saw a few tanks near the end of the yard.

3885 and 3836 are by the house.

Henry looks worse. Actually its completely empty other than the 7 sand cars up by the barn on the second track.

Bayer should be picking up with the spring season
Fremont is shipping 2 to 4 every Tuesday and Thursday
Nugent is shipping a lot from the north end but Id dare say that Norton shores is almost done. numbers are very small from Henry/ Norton shores.
Bay logistics on the other hand is Very busy. They have 3+ there almost every day. I saw 7 leave on last Fridays Z627.
Webb is shipping 2 to 3 a day.

Does anybody know what the Wood chip Hopper does up in north yard? it is always there and I never see it move

Is it an actual solid bottom wood chip car or an oversize drop bottom hopper? RA was good for sending the SGVY Beet hoppers/ old ICG Coke/ Woodchip cars out to the railroads as ballast cars, only loaded on the end pockets to prevent them from buckling in the middle.
