Re: Where Is It?

Hidden in plain sight... Tracks are in place here, but gone for a half of a mile north of the pictured location. In fact they stop right at the bushes on the right side of the photo. This spur has been featured on this thread before, so hopefully that might help if one bothers to look back. Any lat...

Re: Where Is It?

You guys are right about it being Detroit but it is not Milwaukee Junction. There are active tracks off in the distance near the old water tower Is this the produce warehouse near Milwaukee Jct? http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/11339/Untitled.jpg I don't see any active tracks near dow...

Re: Where Is It?

Correct. This was switched by a Conrail Job out of River Rouge Yard after making a reverse move at Delray and onto CSX. The spur crossed the Forman Wye and Gates St. Yes, I recognized, that location. It's the old Conrail spur to the Morton Salt Company plant on Flora Street and the CRH Ready Mix on...

Re: Where Is It?

The abandoned track/ties used to cross the active track in the 2nd picture. The active track is CSX. But not a mainline. The old diamond where the old Conrail spur cross the CSX West Detroit Branch just north of Chicago W Avenue, Detroit in the second shot. The end of old Conrail spur is just south...

Yes, In Detroit. Old Conrail spur. Logically, this would have been CSX trackage. Re: Where Is It?

Looks a little like the area being rebuilt where the old Chrysler plant was in Hamtramck. New industries coming in but none that get rail service :( https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2918/34072259555_dba5c06a85_b.jpg IMG_0847 by tcamp7837 , on Flickr [/quot Hints please!. AARR is correct! They run from Joy Park to North Avenue and return on Sundays from first Sunday of June to last Sunday in October. MTM loco 1807 no longer operating.

Just off of Hughart. Road begins with a T, like Tower St. or something. Tracks once went towards Seymour in the other direction and connected with the C&O. Got it! Not in the SE quadrant of GR, no. The street view from June 2011 had far more brush and trees, making it harder to see the rail laying here.
It's the old siding off the CSX , GDLK or the Marquette Rail?

Re: Where Is It?

Yes it is a siding just North of TC industrial area. There is a power transformer to the right of my photo position. The power station has all new equipment. I suspect the siding was used to bring in those hugh transformers even though the the rails are almost covered by soil and growth. The rust o...

Rodney, yes it is in the Grand Traverse area. Not Walton Jct. Those tracks are very active in all directions unlike these.
