Re: CSX Cut Backs ?

I wonder who will be controlling the Bert line from Galion to Columbus? If IE gets that too, then that is going to be one overworked dispatcher. Thanks for reminding me about that. The DS that night said that side would be added to the IE desk. Aren't the Indy desks basically unchanged (to an exten...

Re: CSX Cut Backs ?

Indy is laying off dispatchers, and while Indys extra board is about 3 times the size of ours it does make me nervious. I was listening to the radio the other night on my way home and heard Q218 talk to the IE north of Findlay (Ohio). The dispatcher said that they are abolishing a desk and the IE d...

Re: Spring Meet

"Hamler is where the CSX Chicago Line (CTC, 60+ TPD) crosses the Indiana & Ohio Ry (CTC, 2 TPD). CSX: CSX runs mostly manifest freights through here, but intermodals are also frequent. If you visit on a Sunday you can usually catch Q345, which interchanges grain cars with the I&O. Not trying to sid...

Re: Going to Chicago

As I have said for the past year now, I finally have tickets on Amtrak from ARB to CHI on the 29th of march, what would be good channels to have for Chicago in-general? I plan on annoying Holly, and everybody around me on the train with the scanner, and the crew calling signals  Where do y...

The thing I'd like to do with TD3 is try to simulate breakdowns, derailments, late trains, broken trains, bad signals, etc (all the fun stuff!) as authentically as possible, but I have no idea what the "chance" settings should be. Any ideas? If you're talking about Train Dispatcher, go here: http:/...

Those numbers are probably from Toledo Jct. (Near Mansfield, OH) where the the line split off of the PRR Chicago mainline.

The diamond is going in today. I will try to get some pictures. I'm suprised CSX is not using my yard for parking.

I thought that the bridge that burned near Cecil was still out of service, which I thought was one of the reasons that CSX pulled the diamond.

I was east of Bryan yesterday afternoon, and saw/heard about 8 trains in about a 20-minute span. Other than a EB coal train in the siding at Archbold, traffic seemed to be moving along nicely.

It will probably be fully be re-opened in the next couple days or so. Current reroutes are going north on the C&O at Fostoria to Walbridge, and taking the Toledo Sub down to Deshler, and vice versa. Westbound on 2 main was Q375, eastbound coal on 1 main was U994.

from http://www.midwestrailfan.com/garrettsub "RM Dispatcher: 160.290 (AAR Channel 12) " It is still 84 161.370, same as before the changeover. Also, Q160 has not run since the beginning of March. Q160 traffic has since been put on Q110. Q324 has not run for a while, accroding to http://www.railroad...
