Minneapolis, MN?
I'm in Minneapolis the next couple weeks doing a training class for my job and I have this weekend free and want to do some railfanning. Minnesota Commercial is definitely on my list but anyone have any good spots to shoot them or any other spots at all that would be worth checking out?

Re: Lowell Street Trackage???
AT one time the spur in question served the headstone/monument shop. I remember that being in place years ago. The piece left of the spur was used to unload plastic beads for Attwood. Wonder where that business went? Was in use when CSX had it up until maybe 10/15 years ago... There was also a coup...

Re: Conrail Grand Rapids 1990s
Conrail only very briefly operated beyond Kzoo and 44th, selling the line off to the state not long after Conrail's inception. It became the Kent Barry & Eaton and didn't last too long. What about after that? I thought they once again regained the line after the KBEC folded. Didn't trackage to Cale...

Re: Track plan
Here is a different take on a Plymouth/Detroit plan. It is an adaptation of a plan in Trainplayer. Still working out an operating Scheme. http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10457/Detroit_Sub_28129.jpg Both plans look good and look like theyd be fun to run, but I like the first better wi...

Re: Lansing Model RR
Just 4 Fun hobbies is near the Frandor mall between Lansing & East Lansing. They had some train stuff in their old location. I have not been in since they moved a few months ago, so I don't know what they carry currently. G&G Trains is probably the best store in the area. They are in the country ne...

Re: CSX-Lansing to GR-1990s (Doktor No?)
I sorta remember the mini unit trains to Sunfield. I remember seeing cars filling the two tracks behind downtown. Never remember seeing the little yellow Alco though. Are these the tracks you speak of? These haven't been used since the 90s? http://www.railpictures.net/images/d1/7/4/1/8741.120756960...

Re: Ann Arbor RS1 #21
Nothing going on lately with the unit, we do have a member who checks in on it from time to time and works on the electrical issues. I think he has the main generator put back to running order now. Currently she is without functional batteries so starting the engine is out of the question for now. ...

It was used by Demmer to move and lift coil steel out of gondolas before they stopped using rail. I don't think Demmer occupies the site anymore though

Re: Lansing Boxcars
Could the ADBF be fixing up the Old Town line just for car storage purposes? Boy, that would sure make some people angry...just like with Watco in Saline. Unless they are only going to store them between Grand River and Oakland, it wouldn't seem to make since given the how close the crossings are. ...

Re: Lansing Boxcars
From what I've heard crews have been working on removing asphalt and dirt from the Old Town spur in preperation for service soon. Looking forward to seeing this. I'm kinda interested in knowing why Friedland stopped using rail anyway. Did the NS years scare them off? JAIL nbd Lansing 4 20 2016.jpg ...
