Westbound thru Battle Creek an autorack with all NS power, NS 9143 leading 3678.

What looked to be an Amtrak was eastbound on CN leaving Battle Creek around 02:30. Don't see it on Amtrak's map, maybe an equipment move or test train of some kind?

Was there a different yard servicing the bomber plant, etc, during WW2?

Nice lash up of 2 red/white/blue BCOL units pulling a stack train now eastbound thru Battle Creek, BCOL 4601 and 4611.

Now headed east thru Battle Creek, Intermodal with CN power and a CABOOSE as 3rd unit! Too far away to see any details.

Update: was able to slip down by the yard for a minute, power is CN 2583 leading Ex-CSX GECX 7330, followed by caboose, red GTW 79197.

NS 6758 and 3534 pulling a Herzog ballast train thru Battle Creek w/b while what I think is the B34 is stopped in front of the Amtrak station with NS 5318 at the rear, didn't see the head end power, presume its going to head east.

In Battle Creek Yard earlier, IC 9571 was moving what looked to be a modified red boxcar possibly CN0040. Maybe some kind of MOW car? They have been doing track work in the yard the last couple days.

Amtrak MOW worked again tonight west of BC, rail train appears empty. Power just left light eastbound, but I assume they are going to run around their train and then head west. UPDATE: Power did in fact run around, first going east to the crossover near Gord, then back west light to crossover again ...

The rail train moved, not sure when, but it appears it is actually working just west of the Helmer Rd crossing along with other Amtrak machines and Amtrak MOW crews. Guess it makes sense to do this work at night. Crappy night to work outside though! Update: MOW cleared up around 05:00 in time for NS...

A long B33 westbound through Battle Creek with two NS leading, not sure of numbers but think 2nd was NS 2694?

Update: Amtrak MOW/rail train working west of Helmer Rd crossing, cleared up in time for B33 to return eastbound about 05:10.

So far rail train still sitting idle, now a bunch of Amtrak MOW trucks are gathered a short distance from the head end, at the Angell St crossing, maybe working on signals?

Amtrak rail train either tied down or waiting to proceed east on the Michigan Line just west of CP Gord in Battle Creek, power is AMTK 518 and 519.

B57 back from Augusta thru BC e/b with 10 CH's from Knappen, NS 5334 leading 7129, about 0530.

This was westbound thru Battle Creek just about midnight, didn't see the power.

At the Battle Creek yard, CN 2944, gray CREX 1518, boxcar CSX 8878, and r/w/b BCOL 4607 lashed up and idling near the fuel dock, CN 2868 and CREX 1329 tied down near the Track Dept, CN 5451 building a train to presumably head west, and blue GTW 4911 idling near the tower.

Train ??? was NB past MP 22.2 at 12:40 pm today. Missed the power. Earlier presumed this was 451. A Lorem Railgrinding train is working its way back and forth on the Holly south of Pontiac this afternoon but it is a short, two unit set and I never heard or saw or smelled any grinding going on. Several pieces of Amtrak MOW equipment tied down on the old industrial siding near CP Custer in Battle Creek. Also noticed the new Amtrak signal bungalow there is just marked "CP 124" in smallish letters, unlike the old CR/NS one that it replaced that had a large "CUSTER" sign on both ends.
