Re: CSX Train Location Updates - January 2021

Don't they call that type of signalling "poor man's CTC" or something like that? No, not really. "Poor man's" CTC was usually where you only had a power switch at one end of a siding and a spring switch at the other. When making meets, you would normally put the train in the siding where you had th...

All of CSX in Michigan.
3rd shift also has all of the RL desk to deal with, as the desks were combined in June at night. Walbridge can keep a dispatcher busy.
Holy Hell, that's alot of territory on 3rd.

Re: Dispatching styles and the “RN”

Having worked towers, dispatching as a craft dispatcher, and chief dispatcher, I can say there is a different style of dispatching these days. When I was a chief, I had good dispatchers who were left alone, and dispatchers who I watched like a hawk. However they were still given the freedom to dispa...

CMGN / HESR original Train symbols

Curious if anyone has a list of the original CMGN train symbols, when they still owned lines to Grand Rapids.

Anyone know why CMGN went with the symbols they chose?

Same question for the original HESR, why did they choose the symbols they chose?

CSX didn't have a good plan for the moving dispatchers implemented. No moving expenses. Um, no. They are paying moving expenses. I am hearing the NS is making their dispatchers move on their own dime, as there is nothing in their contract to make them. That is just something I heard around the wate...

Re: CSX changes in Plymouth

The one thing all of you fail to realize when talking about a Detroit to Chicago intermodal train, EHH hates train specific trains. He wants to run a train from A to B carrying everything. Not just intermodal. As much as it pains all of you, EHH wasn't brought in to bring more train counts. Or what ...
