Re: Policeman rescues potential suicide at Carleton
OMG, the officer is my uncle, you would think someone in my family might have mentioned this but I have to find the story here...lol. He is a retired police chief and took the job part time in "quiet little Carelton" for something to do. Guess ya never know what might come up in the police business ...

Re: NS Updates for September 2017.
Following the e/b B57, the B33 was also e/b thru Battle Creek with plenty of power, NS 3324 leading 3409, 3367, & 6346 with only 17 mixed cars. Lots of Amtrak vehicles at many crossings around BC this morning doing some kind of signal work.

ADBF Old Road Dinner trains
Just a couple questions about these trains. Anyone have any recommendations on these? Considering a date night maybe in the future. :D I saw some reviews online about the Charlotte train that were not so good, and said the train only moves about 1/4 mile back and forth during dinner, in other words,...

These are driverless street vehicles, like small busses.

Cool project! What is the history of the caboose? Wonder if they will give it correct markings.

Re: Michigan Rail Business news
For the first time that I am aware, ReConserve (formerly Endres) on Angell St in Battle Creek has 2 CH's on the spur in their facility. They extended the spur from the WestRock (former RockTenn) paper mill and built a railcar loading building at least a year ago, but I don't believe it was never use...

Re: Kellogg's switcher
It does not appear to have been moved from its current location in a long time, probably a few months. I don't think I've ever seen it actually in operation, but periodically its tied down in a different location. CN switches from their yard lead. NS exchanges cars from their lead into Hinman yard o...

In the CN Battle Creek yard: Loram rail grinder tied down behind Kelloggs west of the old GTW loco shops, a little difficult to see. Flat bed semi load of rail wheel sets waiting to unload at the car shop. Orange EJE 661 resting near the yard tower, CN paint IC 6100 looked to be getting ready to hea...

Railcars on flat bed trucks
Two rough looking but intact CH's came thru Battle Creek and are now headed west on M89 on oversize load flatbed trucks. Pilot driver said they are enroute to Kalamazoo and he believes they are to be set back onto the tracks somewhere over there. He did not know if they are to be scrapped or why the...

A pedestrian was struck by an eastbound CN coal drag in Battle Creek. Occurred at the E. Michigan Ave crossing near CP Baron as the train was approaching the Battle Creek yard. Appears the pedestrian has non-life threatening injuries but was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

A little before 4 am, a late B33 headed west thru Battle Creek toward K'zoo with NS 3297, 3035, and 3049 pulling about 62 cars, mixed but mostly steel coils. Then a short time later the B57 followed west with NS 5337 and 5272 running light, presumably headed to pick up in Augusta.

CN 2123 long hood forward thru Battle Creek Westbound with about 60 mixed cars, several of which were centerbeams loaded with those aluminum rods that are about 8" in diameter.
