Re: GLC GP-35's
At Durand on 2012-11-21, I saw 390 and probably 393 as part of a four engine train lugging 65 loads of coal south. As I understand it, they had engine trouble, and backed into the yard. I did not see that as I was planted on the High Wye waiting for a BNSF unit to come around.

Re: RRFan Fall Meet 2012 - Deshler/Butler Sept 29-30
I'm coming! I'm spending Friday and Saturday nights in Fostoria, mainly so I can catch the sunrises there. On Sunday, I think I'll follow 18 to get more or less in the area of St Joe, Indiana, hoping to get lucky, and then I'll be up to Butler. I'm an old geezer approaching 70 so I should be fairly ...

Re: RRFan Fall Meet 2012 - Deshler/Butler Sept 29-30
I'm thinking of coming... Head out to Fostoria on Friday, Deshler on Saturday, and Butler on Sunday. I'll give this a lot of thought. Looks like really great weather for this coming weekend.

Trains in Milan, MI
Hi. I'm headed out to Ann Arbor this week to work on the kid's home, and then I'm planning on spending some time in Milan to watch the NS parade, and maybe a lucky chance at the Ann Arbor RR. Can anyone tell me how many NS trains I might see in four to five hours?
Thanks
John.
Thanks

Re: Rejection Help
I like it, Ben, but I'm not rail-picky. Where in Fostoria did you take this shot?

Re: Fostoria
I'll keep that in mind. Ohio can be a strange place. You sure that one is still on the books?
Re: Fostoria
RailOhio: Not too good for bushes or available trees or just a snow drift; Too poor for jail
Y@: thanks. I guess I'll have to take a few empty milk jugs / yellow bombs.

Fostoria
Has any one been to Fostoria in the last week or two? I'm wondering if the porta-potty is back on Columbus street yet? I'm thinking about a trip down there and I don't want to be running to Mc Donalds every so often...

This is spot-on. If you shot RAW, consider HDR (high dynamic range) for any adjustment.

Re: Lens hood?
Yes, a lens hood will help when the sun is not to your back, but it gives the most help when you are pointed more or less in the direction of the sun: it keeps the direct sun rays off the lens which helps with flare and contrast issues. OK, if you are going to buy a hood (I'd recommend it for a numb...

Re: Nikon D90
Right you are. Most digi programs can do this. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about nasty lens faults, not perspective problems. Check this link: http://www.epaperpress.com/ptlens/ They boast: "PTLens is software that corrects lens pincushion/barrel distortion, vignetting, chromatic ...
