Re: A Question For Antenna Buffs
My full wave loop antenna is positioned 30' below a ridge that is approximately 1400' from my indoor location. I receives a DD 12 miles away. How is this possible?

Former is a hybrid of foamer. Former just won't let go of the past and still sees some sort of hopeless dream that their favorite rail line will return to a glory it never had. The Peavine and the former B&O Ohio Division are both prime examples of both. You try and explain 15 to 20 times why thing...

I checked the Michigan Air Emmissions data. It looks as though Abbott quit burning coal in 2011 through 2015. No newer data has yet been released. Either Abbott restarted the boiler on coke (not likely) or the coke is headed elsewhere. Is there s foundry nearby? Believe it or not, there are exempti...

Frac sands can come from just about anywhere silica sand is mined. Transportation costs are the leading factor and whoever can transport it for the cheapest price does. To simplify things, sands that are 100 mesh usually are used for NG and less than 100 mesh is used for crude. The deeper the well a...

Everyone aboard voted for the last round of Amtrack funding. You do know there are 184 congressional districts in which not one person gets on or off a Amtrack train.DaveO wrote:[url]

Officials say he is out of danger now and gonna recover. He also has been charged with trespassing and ordered to pay 500 rupees. A study was done and from 2014 to 2016 and there were 76 deaths in India involving selfies and trains. This guy was lucky.

How long does a driver need to wait before passing a school bus with red overhead lights flashing? Not that a bus would stop for 15 minutes with the lights on ... but if it did, could someone pass? Do not pass means do not pass. I passed a bus some years ago driving a commercial vehicle. The bus ha...

Does anybody know if the connection to CSX was made? The site was chosen for direct access to allow inbound wheat shipments and outbound shipments of flour. The site is less than a mile east of Willard yard. The mill was completed in July 2016 but this photo from google in November of 2017 shows no ...

ODOT probably plans on paving 104 sometime this year and with the line being out of service they will tearing out the crossing with the understanding they are responsible for putting it back in if needed. I used the actual photo of the scene, not Google earth. The actual photo shows about 4 loco lengths of travel. In this actual photo of the scene there is more than 4 lengths between the lead loco and the trailing loco. https://static.seattletimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/12182017_derailaerial...

I still don't believe the speed they have now corrected. Neither the lead locomotive, nor any of the passenger cars even made it to the far side of the road. stopped about three to four locomotive lengths from where it left the tracks, The locomotive traveled farther than your estimate of 71 - 94 y...
