Some HO rolling stock for sale...
I have listed on ebay the following: -2 Athearn RTR (the detailed ones) Union of Oregon Railroad Boxcars. These cars were leased to BN in early 1980s, and pictured all over the US and Canada. -Athearn RTR (the detailed ones) Northern Alberta Railway NAR Boxcar. NAR was absorbed into CN in early 1980...

Michigan woodchip hoppers???
I recalled a picture last night and need answers. Why would there be a large woodchip hopper north of GR/LAN/PH post lake ferry service? It did not look like a beet hopper either. Any ideas? Where they load on sidings up north by portable chippers or something like that? Or used for something else?

Re: A History of The Jackson & Lansing Railroad
Great picture! I also forgot to mention that I remember railbox cars delivering brick at Turner St. on a short spur in the mid 2000s and possibly later. The second story of that building was a thrift store in the 1980s and my mom took me there a couple times a week. I spent the whole time there watc...

Re: A History of The Jackson & Lansing Railroad
Sigh...I knew I would get SOMETHING wrong. :( Hey, that video is absolutly awesome. Did you mention the 2 industries at Jolly Rd. Lansing? One is a team track that I have seen bulkheads at. And the other I do not know what it is but have seen action there, the track goes through the building. You v...

Re: Central Michigan caboose #1 - history?
Hey, it was inherited from the GTW when they got the Bay City line is what I have heard from more than one source. And it wore the patch job until between 2001 - 2002 when it got the black and red scheme. I do not know the number for either CM 1 or CM 2 ex-GTW caboose.

Re: A History of The Jackson & Lansing Railroad

I have a lot of memories as a kid of Conrail all over lansing on these tracks, anyone have any photos of the conrail days in lansi...

Re: A History of The Jackson & Lansing Railroad
Great VIDEO! .. I may in some way be wrong, but Lansing has more customers: they service Quality Dairy with plastic pellet hoppers and further down the line they service Reid Machinery with heavy duty flat cars. I have some video of this from 2011. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So1uA2cIcMU&list=UU...

What do you show the spur in Zilwaukee that goes to Sargent Docks named as? So the spur that goes to Sargent Docks was actually not a spur, it was the old GTW main line along the Saginaw River, just north of the Zilwaukee Bridge. And right past there a few yards is Anderson Sand & Gravel. Today, an...

I am highly focused on the Zilwaukee Spur. I appreciate any information even if you are not 100% sure of it. The big question here is was Luntz Scrap located on the "Zilwaukee Spur"? and then there are the smaller things... I thought Luntz was located on Carrollton Spur and switched by Chessie :? I...

Questions: Foss Jct. Bay City Cement etc...
I was wondering about the cement facility in Essexville called Essroc. (1) Did this (or could this) place have received open hoppers of limestone or anything from the D&M in the 1980s? Was it called Essroc in the 1980s? Did it distribute cement from La Farge while La Farge was producing cement? I kn...
