Re: The Swanton Railcam and DelayInBlock.com
Clear camera picture looks good. The Yellow banner at the top of the page is too large. You should bring it up a little so one can see more of the tracks that you trying to focus on in the picture. That would be the only thing that I see any issue with other than sound.

Re: The CCET gains more business on the Peavine
Maybe baby steps yet they are trying and that is more than NS did. NS could have had business on the line but they decided to move on and lease the line out. Hopefully the CCET lands more business on the line in the future.

The CCET gains more business on the Peavine
Just when everyone thought the Peavine was dead (even me) according to the newspaper in Mt. Orb in April the CCET is picking up more business. They just landed the Ag in Windchester and have a potential for four more business to that wants rail transportation, Looks like the Ag will give the CCET at...

Re: Roadrailers
I would think this would be a cost effective way for the railroads to haul this kind of a load as less weight on the total train. They have been doing this for years can't see them stopping now.

Re: Chesterton Rail Cam
I may take a trip up there this summer. Looks like a great place to railfan. Most of the trains that run up there are double stacks or tankers. Maybe three passenger trains a day. I also see some car carriers but plenty of double stacks. Passenger trains come pretty fast on the tracks most of the ti...

Chesterton Rail Cam
I have been checking out the Chesterton Rail Cam tonight and in the last twenty minutes I have seen five trains and I passenger train. That is one busy line. How many trains run on those tracks daily?

Re: NS Peavine talk
Everything always sounds good for the idea makers and the contractors who come up with numbers that are always lower at a start of a project. Like this Street Car named Disaster in Cincinnati. The first number was maybe manageable, then came the second number, where was the money going to come from,...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Looks like the Ag and the paper company at the old Ford plant will keep the CCET pretty busy. The paper company is ready to expand I hear. Adding new jobs so they will be needing more material and will be shipping more stuff out. The Ag is the money maker for the CCET but not sure how much more busi...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Don't think the line will ever be open for rail excursions. The CCET has it on a lease for three years to haul freight only. It was just recently that NS granted the CCET to open the line to Winchester. There is however plenty of discussion to put a commuter line on the Peavine in the future. The li...

Re: CCET operations
Its good to see the CCET getting the AG together for the summer. This will be a money maker for them and most likely they will be running out there a few times a week. Between the AG and the paper plant in Afton they should do pretty well for the next few months.

Re: CCET operations
From what I have read this morning NS did grant the lease to the CCET for three years on the Peavine. If the CCET continues to pick up contracts from business out east I can see NS giving them more rail to operate. There is always a possibility that the Peavine may one day open again and when that h...

Re: CCET operations
I need to go back in my notes but I do believe the lease was for 3 years. The first year will be coming up in April I do believe. I need to send Jaw Tooth a email. Correct NS is pretty slick when it comes to filing paper work and contracts. The more I read into this Peavine from different sources I ...

Midland pal NS has limited trackage rights on the Peavine. You know they still own it just leasing it out for three years.

Re: CCET operations
FREIGHT AND TANKERS! Okay point well taken. Now my buddy did see a trunk on the rail not sure who it was most likely the CCET maybe, but either way there must be some interest for the CCET to venture up east on the track that has been closed for well over a year. Surely they are looking at the track...

Re: CCET operations
I must say this Midland Sub guy reminds me of someone I work with. He knows everything about anything. Did you talk to Chris to find out if the pickup truck was for sure was someone from the CCET? Or are you speculating again? Pal you and your buddy are both running your chops that the Peavine will ...

He said it was a darker colored logo. Tracks are pretty rusty on the Peavine. Chris moved to another job. Guy sure moves around.

Re: CCET operations
My buddy who lives just outside of Seaman said on Wednesday he saw a white pick up rail truck on the rails going east, three guys in the truck had a logo on the drivers side of the truck but he couldn't make it out. He said the truck never returned east.
