Re: GDLK Operations

IP and Alliance Sheets get 50ft boxcars normally. Also J Rhett, Great Lakes and Bluelinx get boxcars in, as well as MSO for the packaging plant in Sturgis. Most customers get cars from all three interchange points (NS, CN and CSX) so boxcars will travel the entire line.

Wow, could this really happen?

"Moreover, the exec team crafted a plan to upgrade all of Pioneer’s track to a Class I standard. Work is progressing and might take three to five years to complete at all the short lines, says Yeros."
Could be class I track is good for 10 MPH and hazmat haulage.

They stopped using the yard a few years ago. GM kicked them out, I believe they had plans to expand their parking area.

Re: GDLK Operations

Seem like the most logical location for track consolidation is just south of Model Avenue where the line from Grand Rapids (old GR&I) could be tied into the existing track just to the East. This would eliminate the old GR&I from there, South across the Amtrak line all the way to Gib. In my opinion,...

Re: Graphic Packaging White Piegon

There's going to be a bigger hit for the local trucking companies that ship and store this product. P&P, CMS and some mom and pop local drivers had a lot of outbound loads as the trailers sitting outside attested to. Most likely LC Howard will be going gang busters once the new plant is done. So ho...

Can somebody give an updated diesel roster. I'm not sure what's dead or alive when I go by Hughart Yard. 7030 and I think 4124 are currently OOS. Are 3534 and 3531 still around, or did one go out for work? Also interested in the whereabouts of the 3531. It was one of the originals on the property. ...

Fox River Valley Railroad

Does anyone have any information on this short lived railroad? I've been trying to find a system map, and just figure out where all it went and what it hauled. I know it ran along the coast from Green Bay, through Manitowac and down to Butler, but out side of that I don't know much else.
