9969 is 4 axles... so if everything is 4 axles, wouldn’t 12 be a correct count? Or does one of the geometry cars have 6 axles?

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - December 2020
Q327-18 @ 09:40:28am westward Bangor Depot mp CG60.5 with CSX engines #807 + #9969 & 80 cars & rear CSX engine #859. (The CSXT #9969 was pulling the Geometry Train W003-16 by Bangor to Grand Rapids on Dec 16th). From its heritage, I assume 9969 has HEP for the geometry train... and if it is headed ...

Re: CSX Train Locations Updates November 2020
What happened with 327? First it sounded like it was killed at Holland, not to move again today. And now it’s on the roll again?

Re: Picking up paperwork, St Joe Bridge
I assume this can’t happen during the winter months when the bridge is closed and unstaffed. Last winter, the river never froze so it was staffed all year. But in previous years, if memory serves, I think I remember trains stopping to "see if there is anything on the printer." So maybe the train cr...

Re: Picking up paperwork, St Joe Bridge
That makes sense on the coal trains. Thanks for the info. Still wondering how Amtrak is doing it right now if their fax is down. Maybe CSXs come via computer and that is working, while NSs come via fax and that is broken? Who knows. That’s a mystery I can live with, now that I understand the coal tr...

Picking up paperwork, St Joe Bridge
For about a week, P371 has been stopping at St Joe Bridge for paperwork. On day one, they specifically mentioned needing NS bulletins. On day two or three, they commented the problem was a broken fax machine at the Amtrak crew base in GR. Which got me to thinking, how do they get CSX bulletins to ge...

Where is Hiawatha?
I’ve heard the RN mention a location called “Hiawatha” to West Olive coal trains a couple times. Where is that? I can’t seem to find it.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates: October, 2020.
Tom, you’d better wait until Bangor to speculate on this one. I think it had 3 CSX locomotives and 2 Consumers. The Consumers are 4 axle. Not sure about the 3rd CSX. As you know, I have a very narrow view of the tracks from my office window.

Why run a short train?
Today’s Q327 is four cars long with two locomotives. A couple covered hoppers, an empty bulkhead flat, and a scrap gon. Why even run it? That has to be a huge money loser...
Edit: I originally typed 326 by accident. I meant 327.

Good points, all.
In the early hours of this morning, a dispatcher asked D700, “Where is Coloma?”

Dispatching styles and the “RN”
When I was in high school (1994-98), I listened to the scanner a lot. I grew up near Fargo, ND and mostly heard the BN dispatchers working western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota. As I remember it, the BN dispatchers were in charge, always. The attitude was “I am the dispatcher, I will tell you w...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates, September 2020
For anyone in the Detroit area, be advised ... per the SC Milepost 65 Facebook Group, there is a GEVO leading CSX 9969 with a Geo Train currently in Rougemere yard. Still unsure at this time which way it’ll be headed if it’ll be toward Lansing/GR or Toledo. A Facebook report about 30 minutes ago ha...
