Re: Auburn Road signals in Utica being removed
my question is why was it necessary to reinstall the signage to begin with ? The warning signals were absent for quite a few months now and with the track removed by Hall Rd should ne no reason to have them.

On my way home from work I decided to take a different route and took 22 mile from Ryan to Van Dyke. The crossing at...

Was told that some in-the-field testing is happening with one of those locos.....not sure what is being tested though (us mere operating employees wear mushroom hats) Heard its the 2 and updated cummings engine that was installed by Siemens. It involves twin turbos to allow much needed acceleration...

wondering if the bowed section was caused by the derailment and was not the cause of it. Amazing how much tension is on those rails after an accident.

Re: Parked caboose blocks traffic in Novi
"The company didn't realize that it was blocking the roadway, they didn't park it far enough down the tracks to get it off the road, so they had to call the company to have someone move their caboose off the runway," Novi police Sgt. Mark Boody said.

Re: Auburn Road signals in Utica being removed
Actually the signal s on the south side of M59 had the cantilevers removed as well as the gates. Flashers still present at the crossing. The crossing protection on the north side of M59 is still complete with all warning devices still in place. 22 mile road is void of any crossing protection (well t...

Re: Amtrak’s new venture cars
Im afraid you are going to be very disappointed in the comfort. The best way I can describe the seat comfort,,,,,get on a city bus and ride it for 6 hours. Seats are narrow and for two people sitting together, you WILL get to know them well :). Arm rests do separate you abit. The plugs and USB ports ...

Re: High level platforms
When you refer to high level, is it Northeast Corridor style where they only have to open the door and walk on without opening the trap, or a station that does not require a stepbox but passengers still have to pull bags up the stairs? Michigan stations are all low level in that regard with the exce...

Re: Old is New for 351/352?
yes for a little while. Due to the cold weather ,mgmt decided to add the additional unit. Considering how reliable the 44s are now, why not. Sure the crews love not having to turn the engine each night. When the cold weather subsides, the engine will disappear.

Re: New Signal Installation Below Blue Water Bridge?
where do they normally tie up ? maybe adding a short track off the "main" to store the engine when not in service and the lights protect the yet to be installed switch?
