Is there any traffic in Fremont on the Michigan Shore? I believe Ceres Solutions moved all rail operations to White Cloud. Did they every transload lumber again?
I believe currently the three main customers for MS are:
Webb Chemical
Brinks Terminal
Nugent Sand (traffic down)

Re: GDLK Operations
Another update, I think Kalamazoo Metal Recyclers has started scrapping railcars on their transload spur near downtown. Just one and its been there for a few months now. They haven't done any rail business in probably a year. That's too bad. Was most of that scrap headed for Chicago? Thanks for the...

Re: Michigan Rail business news redux
My impression was the plant was underutilized and would need increased production to maximize its potential. The plants yard, which if I have accurate information might receive 7-10 cars a week, looks like it can handle triple that volume. I’m open to corrections and accurate information. Expansion...

Since when does humor = trash? Good lord, lighten up. I can find that kind of humor on Facebook, and it added nothing to the topic. I don't think this would have anything to do with it, but does anyone know how the long WATCO's lease of the Grand Elk is for? I know they leased the line and the take...

Re: GDLK Operations
I have no knowledge of the situation, but would ask a simple question. Was this a single sign that indicates a possible name change, or are there multiple signs reverting the name back. If its a single sign, would it have been possible the railroad simple attached a new sign over the old sign and t...

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
The keystone facility in Hamilton Michigan has apparently started receiving inbound fertilizer shipments. Sometime in the last few days the Hamilton Northwestern brought in at least 3 tank cars. On 03/13/2024 they were observed sitting on the run around track inside the facility. They have to spot ...

Re: GDLK Operations
Was the Kalamazoo Yard recently renamed back to Botsford? I see the signage has changed on the yard office. Clearly the NS has decided to terminate the lease and take over operations again, just before they sell the whole thing plus their rights on the Michigan Line to the CP. Super helpful respons...

Re: ADBF/JAIL Changes Made Under New Ownership
While traveling through Blissfield this past Sunday I was surprised to see an NS coil steel car in the yard there. I didn't know ADBF had a customer that received/shipped that particular commodity. I didn't take pictures which means I don't know the car number. I believe there is a railcar repair o...

Re: ADBF/JAIL Changes Made Under New Ownership
Great video! From info I have gathered from a few sources: CN did not want to handle the unit trains to and from the elevator. Supposedly, CN required the elevator to ship at least 500 cars a year, and they were barely handling shipping half that number. Also, The Andersons ethanol plant in nearby A...

Re: Hamilton Northwestern Railroad Co.
I wonder what the range is on a transload site such as this. 15-20 miles? I thought I read somewhere‘s on RailRoadFan.com that the WMI was transloading apples that were transported up to Traverse City Michigan for Gogo Squeez. So who knows what the actual range on a transload site could be. Here’s ...

When was the last time Baraga actually had a rail served customer? I have always wondered about that. By the way, go get ‘em Mike H (regarding transload opportunities - if anyone can, it’s Mike H!!) I believe the last customer was Beese which loaded pulpwood behind the now closed Terex Handlers pla...

Endeavor was already a joint venture between Ceres Solutions and Co-Alliance. Interesting development nonetheless.
