Re: NS. So what is next.
The Metra Heritage corridor. Is weird. It heads in the south end, veers to the River Side, uses the bypass and actually unloads on an Amtrak (Hiawatha) platform on the north end. Watch this video, or zoom to the end and you can see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ykMkvNmWY4 There are not many HC ...

Re: NS. So what is next.
The station change is about giving Metra room to grow, and combine things to save some cost. SWS will go to LaSalle Street Station. Re: GREAT LAKES BASIN TRANSPORTATION, INC
Watco is the largest operator of short lines in US. But they have no real presence in Chicago. They would love to get the operator contract for this line. But only if taxpayers build it. The answer Captplaid is, the class 1's don't support it or plan to use it. The bypass solves nothing for the intermodal trains since they are actually heading TO Chicago and the many yards. So it is only useful only for unit trains. But the Class 1's have either been silent or opposed to participati...

Re: Lake Shore Limited Michigan test routing
MAYBE New Buffalo, depending on arrival/departure times (perhaps a connection with the PM if it works out that way?) No. The PM and LSL are both EB and WB at the same time of day. There is literally ZERO benefit from their connection. Not to mention the PM rides on CSX tracks west of town, not on t...

Re: Lake Shore Limited Michigan test routing
As far as stops go. Dearborn, AA, BC, Kzoo makes the most sense. Doubtful Mich City gets a stop unless Indiana pays for it. This is a Michigan lead project and the stop times need to be minimized.
