Re: Nova Steel, Delta Oh

Last I knew they were only receiving inbound coil steel and it wasn't much, but that was at least six months ago. If they are shipping outbound its not coming south of Lima. Located alongside the IORY a year or so back on the east side of tracks just caddy corner from FCP and has a spur into the bui...

Re: NS Peavine talk

I like to occasionally appear to make a statement of truth and clarity about this weird obsession of many here, that initially those such as yourself find difficult to process, then 3 or 4 years later you're saying it verbatim. I do have to say this thread has settled in nicely without the unfounded...

Indeed it was for BGF. Inbound containers have been parts for Honda for Marysville.

Re: NS Peavine talk

You didn't shrink in close enough. What you see east of Jaybrid Rd on Google Maps is a decent length trestle. I thought the same thing until I looked closer. There's decent size washout between Jaybird and Rarden that needs repaired if and when NS opens up more of the out of service line for them. G...

Re: Lagonda Junction near Springfield Ohio

During the week, and I believe most Saturdays you can find the Springfield local around in the mornings. The fairly new Cohen scrap yard just west of the diamond in the old NYC yard area stays busy with scrap from Topre America plant @ Lagonda. With GM able to supply Navistar with chips again, there...

Re: Moraine/West Carrollton Question

Moraine is dead and just a bare corpse rusting away in the weeds. Everything moved to Reed. Penn Central built the “New Yard” back in ‘71 or ‘72 to support the West Carrollton paper mills. Domtar bought the mill maybe 18 months ago. Rail traffic really has rebound since then and probably the most it...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.

I'll give them credit for finding a niche that might work and also might not. It's interesting to follow them as they share their adventure of making this into potentially something. We do have to be honest about a few things and honest about some of their rather interesting interpretations of the s...

Today we talked about the Peavine. Alex lived by the Peavine tracks for years when he and his wi...

Re: NS Peavine talk

So those modern, efficient locos in storage have been built in the last 20 years have a large problem for shortlines and regionals, anything built after 2000 have those expensive and complicated EPA Tier regulated motors. Now if you have say $1 million dollars sitting around I'll be more than happy ...

Tell me in your magic eight ball why said project won't go forward or use rail... FYI just for the heck of it you can go to the Clermont County auditor office's website and see Purnia has already purchased the property for the plant at Half Acre Rd and Afton Dr. I guess you must know something diffe...

Re: Two abandoned Columbus rail spurs

I was a student at OSU way back in early '90s and by then the track ended at Columbus Builders Supply. I don't recall there being anything left by that time other than the apparent right of ways by the shapes of the buildings. I want to say Columbus Builders Supply was occasionally getting a load of...

Cohen is east of Cincinnati at a location called Macon US 32-US 62 crossroads. Originally was a place that got loads of lumber back in the '90s and built modular homes. They have a scrap place west of Macon on 32 around Sardinia. Pilot should be the company they temporarily store cars for- once they...

Valero leases space at BGF to store empty ddg hoppers and tanks for Bloomingburg. Valero also pays BGF to clean the ddg hoppers out after so many loads. BGF still processing soybeans. Re: G&W to Purchase Ohi-Rail

The line has zero customers other than car storage. Fracking sand transload went away, the line is just far enough out of the fracking area the extra distance killed the business. Other than access to Apex, which they already had, really doesn't make sense G&W bought the company. The 2 GP38-2 were p...

Don’t deflect your guilt on not saving the B&O. Is the tears of the rail “enthusiast” community that bother you the most, or the regret you could be worshipped by said enthusiastically if you had.....?

Informer poll I already know the answer.... Who’s worst fan- Peavine or B&O St Louis to Grafton....
