Re: Shortline Updates October, 2020

If those tanks are the same ones as a few years ago they were used by a company that makes aircraft de-icer fluids. Cold weather be coming. I forget where they went or who the company was.

Re: you Must Be Criminals

Thank you PatAZO and chapmaja. My point exactly. We had a Canadian military train parked in Wyoming Yard while I was working. Foamers all over the place walking around the train, totally oblivious to our work going on by us. We had Wyoming police come down and throw them all off the property and kep...

Re: you Must Be Criminals

You must be Old Joey, Like Me. I too agree to a certain extent because I see a bias towards the 'company line'. I tend to be sympathetic to the LABOR side. I also think they have become too FOAMY. But then again they have the news and I read it and disseminate between the good, the bad and the ugly.

Re: you Must Be Criminals

So TRAINS Magazine is a dud because they reported on new TSA rules? It's TSA that did the rule enactment, not TRAINS.

Re: Dispatching styles and the “RN”

No rest for the wicked Typhoon! 8-) And Fred, I left the road to be a yard rat. Then a remote control yard rat. (remote control, most STUPID thing they ever came up with!) And now darn glad to be retired, 6 years, 7 months and 11 days, not that I'm counting. And Fred, you must have know Conrail Barb...

Re: you Must Be Criminals

Saturnalia, how do 'they' know who 'you' are? What does a regular railfan look like vs. a foamer vs. anyone else? Who says a potential threat wouldn't have a camcorder and tape machine? Would a threat have a beard and wear a turbin or a backwards baseball cap? No beard and a beanie with a propeller ...

Fascinating. Do not pass ...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates: October, 2020.

Jetlink, if you see or hear something SCREAMING call the dispatcher and tell them your location, the sound and the train. The numbers are posted at or on the crossings. Then the crew can scope it out and fix it or set it out. How would you feel if they hit the ground 20 miles down the line and you d...

Comes from The Insulator Gazette Newspaper. Lots of stuff about Hydroelectric development in North America at the turn of the 19th to 20th century...and it is all tied to interurban development...among other things.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates: October, 2020.

D708 has just completed their eastbound switching move at Brighton and will be leaving for South Lyon within the the next few minutes. Watch for that light to turn green if it already hasn't Did you catch any reporting marks on the tank cars that D708 had to take to Plymouth? Just curious if these ...

Yes, MQT cars from PCA in Manistee get interchanged via CSX to GDLK. Return empties come back the same.
Otsego gets the big RBOX cars for paper loading. We would get those for a wallboard plant in Jacksonville. Is it for US Gypsum or Dan Halen Sheetrock? I forget....don't touch the trim!

Roger that David Lang! I know auto fatalities would drop. How many times have you been at an intersection, first up, light turns green and some fool drives right thru the red...never looked up. I've seen it a few times and now I always LOOK both ways when I get a green at a traffic light before I mo...

Re: Car-Train Crash in Gaylord.

Story looked rather straight up to me. Nowhere did I read that the train caused the crash...or are you reading between the lines?
When your head is buried....in your....phone...yeah, you miss trains ahead.
