Re: Bellevue Terminal to be converted to flat-switching
I was up there two weeks ago. It wasn't as busy as it was a year ago. I did see plenty of flat cars. A year ago trains were sitting waiting to get in the yard. Not the case when I was up there for two days. Hate to hear they may be closing the eastbound hump.

Re: NS Peavine talk
That one hurt the CCET but sooner or later there was going to be an accident on that rail like this one. The rails up there are old rotten and heavy rock cars going over the rails a few days a week eventually the rails just gave way. But the same thing happened not long ago on the I&O as well track ...

Re: Something with East Columbus Terminal Railway
Haven't seen anything posted on Facebook about this line of late. Brian purchased this siding in hopes to get some business but had hit some roadblocks along the way. Hopefully, he can get something together by spring maybe some scrap business on the siding if he can get a contract. Hasn't been any ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Mark pal for the first time I do agree with you. I did read that Facebook post from that guy who doesn't even live in Ohio and wants the CCET to give that shortline a price on railroad ties. He has no business getting into any railroad business about ties or anything else. The CCET management doesn'...

Re: NS Peavine talk
I have read the article on two different social media platforms. The Cincinnati Business Courier nailed it. Yes it might be another year but the CCET will be very busy when all this construction is finished and traffic begins to move on the rail from this plant.

Re: Possible Railroad Strike
I agree Chip but the rail union is strong or it was back in the day. This contract is short and as stated above by Saturunila they will fight another day. Biden is pro Union but he doesn't understand management of profits over railworkers

Re: Possible Railroad Strike
Most rail workers are not happy with the decision according to what I have read. Doesn't address the real issues heck they may still walk out after December or just start calling in sick.

City of Cincinnati in talks with NS to sell its railroad
Now sure if anyone heard on the news on Friday but NS wants to purchase the old Southern Railroad from the City of Cincinnati for 1.8 billion dollars. I do believe the railroad generates $36 million a year for Cincinnati. The kicker is for this to be approved it will need to go on the ballot and the...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Past Hanson stone has there ever been a lumber company out that way that used the railroad for transportation? There is plenty of land out that way one would think a lumber yard would be a good possibility of a business along the rail.

Re: NS Peavine talk
Paw that is the county going to do with the line that is out of service out there? I think I read a few months back they were going to negotiate with NS to buy part of the line out there to turn it into a pedestrian/bike path. Not sure why NS wants to hold on to that out of service line as it will n...

Re: NS Peavine talk
This is going to be another good customer long-term for the CCET. So, I assume the CCET will haul cars full of product to the siding at Clare Yard and NS will pick it up send it to Sharon Yard weekly?

Re: NS Peavine talk
Okay got it just that there are a few people on here bad about the Peavine. You would think that everyone on here would support railroads since this is a railroad forum but no there are a few that really don't like the CCET or want to see it fail or just start to stir the pot so to speak. Yes back i...

I'm sure there isn't an article. I have not read anything anywhere about a thoroubread terminal expansion. Typical Peavine haters on this page trying to stir the pot.

Re: NS Peavine talk
My bad I was looking at an article about Melvin Stone and posting this at the same time. I meant to say Hanson. I have been out of town most of the month back and forth but never heard anything or read anything about Thouroughbread terminals expansion. Not sure what you mean by that nothing on any C...

Re: NS Peavine talk
The CCET is really busy this summer. They have picked up a couple of businesses and the Melvin stone company is really using the rail. The Purnia plant is off schedule but wow was just up there the other day that place is giant. The spur in nearly ready. My buddy in Mariemont said I hope there isn't...
