Rougemere Yard is good for watching the genset switch in the morning and its right down the street from I-94 and Michigan Avenue.
What time does the yard job go on duty? Any trouble from locals or cops there?

CSX D708

I know D708 originates at lansing, and works east to south lyon. Any more specific details? The only industries I can thing of are the plastics factory (Something like AshaiKashai) in fowlerville, and the weberville elevator. Maybe interchange in Howell? What else is there?

If you want to see real freight activity, you are in the wrong state.

Re: Delray

Delray Tower is located in the southwest part of Detroit on Dearborn. As noted, tracks in the area border the I-75 bridge in that area. If you park off the side of the drive by the cement plant you should be just fine. I have been their several time and have not been questioned about parking in tha...

Detroit area railyards

What are the major rail yards in the detroit area? Does anybody have a map or the addresses for the yard offices or something? I only know where Oakwood and Rougemere yards are, what and where are the others?

Do U have to pay to watch there? How often does it happen? And finally, what is the name of the NS line that begins at this yard and runs Southeast?

I know. It sucks to live in a state with virtually no thru traffic. Once I get my drivers liscence, I want to take a railfan trip around Ohio and its hotspots.

Busiest Railroad Spot in Michigan

I am looking for good places to fan, and am wondering which location in Southeast Michigan sees the most freight trains daily? I'm sure people have different opinions, but I'm looking for anything. Including the number of trains per day at this spot would really help as well.
