Nobody said I couldn't. No signs or anything. It was, for all good reasons, abandoned. I was looking for some old railroad related pictures. This one is about 3 mos. old.Mr. Tops wrote:Interesting avatar picture, bnsfMAN93. Who let you climb to the top of that BNSF autorack?

Re: Amtrak signal calling question.
There you go. Not restricted speed, but under an approach indication. What are you saying? You are delayed in block if you stop your train. DIB is protecting you incase the NEXT signal has changed since you stopped. After a station stop (or unscheduled stop on a freinght), if your last signal was c...

Re: Amtrak signal calling question.
DIB is the result of a commuter/Amtrak accident back in1996 in Silver Springs MD. Anyway, the comm train left a station in the middle of a block (read: cannot see a signal) and took off, running a red signal due to the engineer forgetting that he had gotten a signal less than proceed before stoppin...

Re: Ithaca Ethanol
According to the CEO of GLC he thinks it'll still open in the future. Diddo for the one in McBain. I hope he's right but it probably won't happen until gas sours above $3/gal which the current pres and administartion would love to see happen. After all of the track work they did, he better pray it ...

Re: FLINT INTERMODEL YARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this thread needs to be re-named "FLINT INTERMODAL YARD FAIL" because I really doubt that Flint is going to have an intermodal yard, especially considering the "source" you got the info from. That would go along perfectly with Michigan idealogy right now. Don't blame CN, they're just keepin...

That's a relief. Do you know how often they are switched?Mike Tabone wrote:They always are up and down prolly no cars on the last train for them anyone know where the cars are from? Annie or the CSX or CN? Its a south bound switch so if the AA brings the cars to Osmer it'd be a real pain in the rear to switch.

Rhetec in A2
Every once in awhile, I drive by the rhetec plant along the GLC (north of osmer), and see how many covered hoppers are in the sidings there. This morning, when I drove by there, it was empty. Is this yet another customer turning to the highway slimeballs for transporation, or is it just a slight dow...

Ithaca Ethanol
A few weeks ago, while driving along 127, I noticed the site of a planned ethanol plant in Ithaca,MI, along the GLC. It looks like a small yard was built there, with the obvious intentions of supporting this plant. The site looks about half finished, with about 4-5 silos and some small buildings. Wh...
