Re: SE Michigan Model Train Show and Sale - November 27, 2022 in Saline
Not worth the effort. I remember when this show was spread out through 3 buildings, now it's down to two and lots of empty tables. Same old vendors pushing the same old tried items from last year and years past, that no one wants. This show and the upcoming Ann Arbor Show in Saline are all we got. I...

Re: Track plan
Tower Automotive acquired A.O. Smith's Automotive assets in 1997, A.O. Smith now focuses on residential and commercial water heaters. Another industry to add, if you have the space, is Atlas Tube off Eckles Road, and can be seen from I-275. I believe they are no longer rail served. But at one time, ...

Re: Tecumseh Products
Thanks everyone, info was great, as well as the Sanborn Maps. I just thought of a few more questions concerning the DT&I (my Favorite Road). Was there much interchange between the DT&I and the NYC/PC?, Were there customers for them to switch?, When did the DT&I stop service in Tecumseh? I am gatheri...

Tecumseh Products
Hello, Anyone who might be familiar with the Tecumseh, Michigan area, I would like to find out what type of cars were spotted at the Tecumseh Products Plant, when it was in business, when the plant started operations, and when it shutdown. NYC Track maps show several spurs in this area, and current ...

Kadee HO Cars
Hello, I sent an e-mail to Kadee a few days ago, asking if there was a remote chance they may someday offer some 40ft. and 50ft. cars, without roof walks, painted for Penn Central and Conrail. I received a response from Sam Clarke, that yes they would like to do PC & CR, however, they are in need of...

Re: Michigan Shortline
I like the concept, what is the time frame, 80's, 90's, etc. ? Also, as apposed to running all the way to Detroit to interchange, why not interchange at the yard in Willow Run, MP26, just a short run from were the branch connects to the Michigan Line? You mention trackage rights to Saline, I assume ...

Adrian & Clinton Branches
Hello, If someone is familiar with these two branch lines of the former NYC, I am trying to find out some info, pertaining to PC, CR & LCRC eras. Adrian Branch, what type of Boxcars were spotted at Stubnitz Springs (Hoover Ball Bearing)? Any 86 footers? Topo Map shows two spurs into Merillat, just B...

Re: Downriver has trains again !
I stopped in to see for myself, picked up two athearn boxcars, not much in the way of train items, no magazines. Three quarters of the store is devoted to RC models, paint by number kits, and scouting items. Hopefully as time goes by, they will bring more items in. The Farmington store was a waste o...

Re: Track plan
There were two Ford plants located along the former C&O, the one at Sheldon Road, received Center Flow Hoppers and 86' Hi Cubed Boxcars. Just up the road east was the Livonia Transmission Plant, they received 50'-60' Boxcars and Tank Cars. As a side note, some of the parts shipped from Sheldon Road ...

Re: DT&I - Penn Central Interchange in Adrian MI (1970's)
In reference to the DT&I covered hoppers of wheat being interchanged to the PC at Adrian, there was a grain elevator at Ogden Station on the Morenci Branch, it would have been in operation during the 70's; and I believe one in Blissfield as well. The Adrian switcher would take the cars to Lenawee Jc...

DT&I track maps for the Tecumseh Branch
Hello, Does anyone have any track maps for the DT&I Tecumseh Branch? I have tried in vain, with little or no success at trying to find info on this subject. Google maps are of no help because the line is gone, except for a short segment from a connection with the Adrian & Blissfield (former Lenawee ...

Hello, I am looking for Track Maps for Toledo, O. to Clinton, Mi., Adrian, Mi. to Lenawee Jct, Mi. and Grosvenor, Mi. to Morenci, Mi. I would like to know what the track looked like along these routes. I have seen straight line maps for PC and CR, at the Multimodal website, but they don't show passi...

Huron & Eastern
Hello, I'd like to find out some info on the Huron & Eastern from the early years. I came across a video of the H&E from about the 1989-1990 time frame, and it shows a train power by two GP 9's bringing a train into I believe is Bad Axe, Michigan and the train was manly grain hoppers, tanks and a fe...

Former CR Clinton Branch Industries.
Hello, Can anyone tell me what industries were located along the Clinton Branch, that was serviced by the Penn Central & Conrail, during the time period between, 1970 to 1982. I know of at least one customer, the former Budd Company Plant in Clinton. I'm looking for as much info as I can get, to use...
