Re: Single-tracking NS in Mansfield OH
That is true, at least not yet. Maybe ns could sell to the Ashland or another terminal railroad, although asry has thier own transload on the north side of town. Interesting because the plastics plant has been there for about 2 years and so far have not used rail service and there are no existing ra...

Re: Single-tracking NS in Mansfield OH
While we are at it, a few weekends ago I went to the Richland Co. fairgrounds. On N Home Rd, the old Erie crossing was paved over, which given that the GM plant closed in 2010, is not surprising. Are all the yard tracks still in place to the west, as they appear on Google Maps? Yes because a plasti...

Re: IORY - Delta, OH
Does anyone know their latest schedule for the Delta crews run up to Flat Rock and back? Also, a buddy of mine saw them using two of the new GE’s on that run recently. Supposedly a new train symbol L231 but the operation remains the same. An every other day operation say, two to three days a week.

DIANN Jct questions part two
I have a question about the AA and IORY interchange tracks at DIANN jCT IN Michigan. Does any traffic from zFS from Ithaca and GLC ever make it down that way to be interchanged with the IORY? And a couple of years back there were supposed to be two extra sidings put in between the two roads and a cu...

Flat Rock Yard...rebirth? sort of
We've all seen the downgrading and cut backs of our beloved DTI se michigan in recent years like....sidings torn up, shortened, Diann Jct downgraded along with the demo of the tower and other things. And for awhile we all thought that Flat Rock Yard itself was not long for this world, at least in its...

radio station and csx in cumberland maryland.
Interesting 10 second clip from a local maryland radio station about csx relaying infrustructure in the yard at Cumberland. Now take this information as you like.

Also think about how many grain trains have been consolidated over the years and how many elevators in the thumb that were downsized.

Re: IORY south end part five.
The Navistar frame traffic has been totally gone for well over a year. They moved everything out of Glen Echo and Trinity moved in. Tech II has not moved their transload, it is still happening out there and cars are being staged for them in Springfield Yard. As for the pig iron traffic going away......

IORY south end part five.
There have been some changes in the Springfield and Urbana areas on the IORY. Over on the Urbana Sub, Ive been told that due to the slow assembly and sales of Navistar cutaways, the number of frames being brought to the Glen Echo transload have slowed down to a crawl to the point of dissapearing. An...
