Well haven't been on here in a while, good think i decided to look. I cant take all the credit for this photo, i took it but using one of my flashes and my friends, remote triggers and 2 other flashes, he knows who he is.........

Yes, it was to fix the washout so the circus train can run out there again. And the scrap place is switched out by yard crew and is switched on a as needed basis.

I would have to agree Kansas City Santa Fe Junction, its the busiest i have ever seen, i was there 4 hours and there was no breaks in train traffic.

I understand that keeping the ISO at a lower level will yeald better noise reduction. The only real reason I increase my ISO is to capture more light quicker then if I had a longer shutter speed. For example that tree shot we have been talking about would have not been possible at a lower ISO, the s...

The main reason I increase the ISO is to capture the light that would not show up in my exposure if I had it set lower.

If you want to shoot signals in low light, a tripod is necessary for good results. I shoot in manual and what tends to work for me is ISO of 200 F8 and a shutter speed as long as necessary for a well exposed shot. These settings can be adjusted on the need of the shot, i usually just adjust my ISO. ...

The reason for so many HBD's is because if a train leaves the siding and heads on single track, it will detect the defect before the train gets back up to track speed. And the HBD in Flint is fairly new, about 4 months ago they installed it I would like to say.

All HBD's have the capabilities to transmit a speed, its a function you can turn on and off depending on preference of the railroad is serves. There are a lot of other functions that you will not hear because some railroads find it not necessary, but the function is there. As for the HBD at 142.9 it...
