Yes, it was to fix the washout so the circus train can run out there again. And the scrap place is switched out by yard crew and is switched on a as needed basis.

I would have to agree Kansas City Santa Fe Junction, its the busiest i have ever seen, i was there 4 hours and there was no breaks in train traffic.

Its called Torrey Yard, Bristol Rd is about the best place to view it.

The fact that they have a chainsaw concerns me.............

The main reason I increase the ISO is to capture the light that would not show up in my exposure if I had it set lower.

If you want to shoot signals in low light, a tripod is necessary for good results. I shoot in manual and what tends to work for me is ISO of 200 F8 and a shutter speed as long as necessary for a well exposed shot. The reason for so many HBD's is because if a train leaves the siding and heads on single track, it will detect the defect before the train gets back up to track speed. And the HBD in Flint is fairly new, about 4 months ago they installed it I would like to say.

All HBD's have the capabilities to transmit a speed, its a function you can turn on and off depending on preference of the railroad is serves.
