Stopped by Sterling Yard today the locomotive is long gone, but saw some switching action>

I was exploring around between Attica and Elba and i noticed alot of new signals turned away from the tracks ready to be in service. Anybody elese know why and see them? And whats a recent train count of trains of the Flint Sub now days?

Where do they come from and where do they end? And do they switch power in southern michigan somewherer?

After work i went by Sterling yard and there was a gray and red i beleve its an alco locomotive sitting just south of the tower. I think the letters on it was NCRS or something like that. Does anybody know why its here and some info on it.

Speking of that what does a License for a railroad employee look like, just wondering

Why is fans of the most powerful thing that moves on land concidered "nerds" And i feel like people get made fun of Railfanning by the "Regular People" alot. I know that when a cop asks me what i am doing standing by a railroad track, and i say "Watching Trains" i can feel him dying of lafter inside...

Anybody see any gondolas on the right side of I-75 (heading North) with a couple of switches in them? It was about 2 weeks ago.

8/4/10 I caught the afternoon road railer going northbound from the 23 mile road crossing on the Mt. Clemens sub. I was wondering what the tank cars at 18 Mile Rd and Van Dyke road are for? They have been there forever at that building with the big Ford sign by 18 Mile and Van Dyke.

There was a little sand on the tracks that was pushed aside on a road that i cant think of the name. But the Yard said on the entrance road "FDIC Property No Tresspassing" and it has a for sale sign on it. Like you said i dont know what they are going to do when it picks up again with the yard gone.
