Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: January 2021
I have a feeling there coming to Traverse City tomorrow. Wednesday night there was a truck crew in tc plowing the crossings. The crew brought 3 gons to beacon around 12 am to tc last Friday. Seen the cars there the other day. The gons at Beacon Recycling are ready for pickup I think. :D Plowing the...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Great question why not a gas operated chainsaw a powerful one at that? Takes seconds to get these small trees knocked down with a gasoline chainsaw. If he is going to buy all of this equipment for thousands of buys might as well spend a few more bucks and get a good chainsaw. Maybe he wants to prot...

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: January 2021
A few weeks ago they had 6 gons on the spur (4 were brand new gons plus to of the usual DJJX). They picked up a load last Friday (also had lumber for Amerhart) during the day, and then of course last night/this morning dropped off the 3 empties. Looked like at least one was a DJJX and the other two...

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: January 2021
They dropped 3 gons at Beacon- leaving TC after 1am this morning. Heard the horns in the quiet night from at least 3 miles away. Nice to see night/weekend train in Traverse City. Also, looks like a heap of rail cars cut up in the stock at Beacon. Looked to be covered hoppers (well, cut up pieces). ...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
Industrial spurs don't need the right-of-way that is appropriate for a mainline. That last sentence is something I would consider as a hard time :P When storing cars you need to allow enough room to get that specific car out that is at the very end of the line. He doesn't get to use the tracks belo...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
You guys who love the CCET so much where the majority of their revenue comes from storage are giving this guy a hard time? He has clearly stated many times that he's going after storage. Even 3/4 mile (or even 1/2 mile allowing him lead track to move around) can be filled with quite a few rail cars,...

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: January 2021
GLC hi rail was in TC today as well as a pickup with a plow (though we've lost most snow in TC, sounds like areas like Kingsley still have enough where they showed back snowbanks from crossings. So betting on a train Friday up here.

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: December 2020
I see GLC pulled a load and spotted an empty at Beacon last night. Didn't check the Williamsburg branch though, happened to go by Beacon while going to get my COVID-19 vaccine (shot 1 of 2). Just as easy as a flu shot.

I'm on a Delta flight from TC to Detroit, and just passed over a GLC train headed north through Kalkaska. Looks like 2 locos and maybe 6-10 cars. What timing!!
