Re: Tolleston Discussion
On the Wabash again this afternoon. Someone told me they saw a train parked here yesterday. Perhaps this is the same one. They said it was two CN wide cabs at the head.

Re: Tolleston Discussion
A freight was on the former Wabash two days ago headed into Kirk. I was unable to confirm if it was Norfolk, but more than likely. I recorded a quick clip of it. Looking west at about Marshall Street. No trains had been using the northwest turnoff at Tolleston in over a year. I can confirm last week...

Re: Tolleston Discussion
If you get a chance to go up to Clark Road it would be interesting to see if they have done any work there. CSX now owns the former NS ROW across Clark Rd and to the west where it should tie in to CSX's main line at some point. CN built a bridge over the old NS alignment to allow CSX to cross under...

Re: Tolleston Discussion
Just saw the ROW through the trees on Airport Road. Definitely cleared out, rails exposed. Hard to tell if there was any MoW equipment on it today.

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
A man traveling on I-90 posted this photo on Facebook this morning. MoW equipment chopping vegetation NW of Tolleston near Clarke. Seems to have been working in the area for at least a week.

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
http://www.dhke.com/CRJ/others-in.html says about Tolleston: "The diamond has been reinstalled at the Porter Branch/CF&E crossing and a connection has been built in the northeast quadrant, so that NS trains on either route can reach the ex-Wabash as part of a new route that will enable them to more...

CN Petcoke Project
An interesting development has occurred in EC. It is reported that CN wants to construct a storage yard for their BP petcoke traffic in EC's Calumet neighborhood. This is causing a bit of a public freak out because of its proximity to homes in the Calumet neighborhood, the Grand Calumet Restoration ...

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
A fairly large construction project is happening in the Tolleston area. Street work at the CSX xing at 9th & Taft, at the xing around Taft & Wabash. MoW equipment has been parked at 9th Ave and the Ft. Wayne xing for over a month. Might not be railroad related, but I just find it odd that work is ha...

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
I haven't physically been there in over a month but I did see a piece of construction equipment from afar last week. No MoW equipment on the tracks, just parked to the side. I meant to check out what was going on but life gets in the way. There were old track segments stacked up over there from 9th ...

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
There's at least one tie kicker and brand new ties at Tolleston alongside the FtW. The vegetation that's been overgrown on the FtW for the past two summers has been cut.

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
I saw MoW equipment on the Ft. Wayne northwest of CP Tolleston yesterday afternoon. Caught the quickest of glimpses so I couldn't tell you what kind of MoW apparatus was there. However someone else told me that they saw MoW equipment on the Ft. Wayne TODAY. I'm assuming it's the same stuff I saw yes...

Body Found At Kirk Yard
Someone told me a body was found cut in half at Kirk Yard this morning. Between the east tower and Buchanan Street. He works for CN and said tower ops sent his Forman photos of the body, which was allegedly cut clean in half. Right now he says it was not an employee. Any insider information?

Re: Tolleston & High Line Questions
Are their locos with no freight running at night on the Wabash? I live about a mile NW of Tolleston. Sound travels further at night, and it's a little louder than it would be during the day - so it could be easy for me to mistake it for being closer than where it really is. Usually at Tolleston, wit...

Re: CSX on the South Shore
The coal trains are the only CSX traffic still handled at Miller. All of the CSX freight goes via the BRC at Commercial Ave yard. So what situation would present itself where a CSX manifest would use CSS&SB's main line WB from Miller? That's the only place where CSX could access CSS as far as I awa...
