Re: Montpelier, OH
I have lived in the area my whole life and in 29 years I cannot remember a time those cars weren't there.

Re: Favorite Photographers
While I didn't include Link in my favorites I do have to say that the man had an amazing knack for not making the train the main focal piece of his photos. The shot at the Drive In for instance has so much going on in the foreground, the.train in the background is almost an afterthought.beyond that ...

Blah, I mixed up the east and west yard. MDH is right, it's Walbridge that I don't know what they use for anymore.

They still do most classification at Walbridge last I knew, they do anything that they can hump there. I am not sure what Stanley is used for anymore.

Even if GM files for bankruptcy the company will still be around. I don't know where the idea comes from that bankruptcy equals liquidation.

Re: Officials agree improvements needed on Maumee & Western
Well sorry to say it but more good news for Defiance. Another saving grace is that we are only an hour from the Ft. Wayne Assembly plant, even if trucks are "evil" they are still about the only Vehivle GM makes money on.

Re: Officials agree improvements needed on Maumee & Western
Y101 is still a pretty busy fellow. Remember Defiance is one of only two GM foundries and the plant is still running 3 shifts a day.
The MAW stays pretty busy too, at least between Naptown and Defiance.

Re: Officials agree improvements needed on Maumee & Western
Was going to post this. As a resident and taxpayer in the City of Defiance I really hope we don't do anything. What is really needed is new ownership by someone who knows how to run a shortline. My short list would include Indiana Northeastern but I doubt they would want anything so far removed from...

Re: Film Shooters?
I shot Prints and Slides for 20 years, finally took the Digital plunge in 2007. Incidently though I have begun shooting slides again using a mint condition Olympus OM-2n circa 1976 with a 100 MM fixed focal length lens. It's fun and honestly it makes me a better photog.

Re: MAW Updates
16 was switching the interchange with CSX this afternoon, they are replacing ties and adding ballast to the yard which may explain why there are no cars in it right now couple of backhoes and a crew of about 10 guys. There are reefers and boxcars sitting on the approach to the bridge from Napoleon. ...
